Padron is one of my favourite New World brands from Nicaragua. I have always enjoyed the ‘2000 Maduro’ which is aged between 2½ and 3 years. Today I enjoyed a ‘1926 Series - No 9 Maduro’ which is 5 1/4" x 56 and medium to full bodied in strength from their exclusive 1926 Series range.
Padron chose the best filler, binder and wrapper for these limited production cigars which are aged for 5 years prior to release. The cigar feels a bit dry but construction is perfect providing a generous quantity of smoke with every puff.
Begins very sweet and earthy, with tiny notes of brown sugar, honey and a hint of pepper on the palate.
The flavour develops with lovely nut, floral notes and coffee flavours with a hint of bitterness.
The cigar ends with full bodied strength, very rich and classic earthy Padron flavours and pepper.
This cigar is great and gorgeous. Probably one of the best New World cigars ever made. Perfect with a nice Flor the Cana 18 yo Rum in the afternoon.
