Germains Full Latakia Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin
Date Added: Tuesday 31 October, 2017
Mac Baren's Vintage Syrian was (and is - if I can find one of their last tins) one of my favourite tobaccos. Cyprian Latakia by comparison is heavy and one dimensional. That being said Germains have done a nice job with this blend - I presume it is not 100% Latakia though it does look like it might be - producing a smoke that reminds me very much of the stuff my granddad used to smoke and enjoy. But watch out if you smoke it in a big bowl - I've just finished a load in my big old Savinelli 141 and by the time I got to the dying embers the smokey, tarry, leathery flavours for which this leaf is renown were overwhelming. Very nice tobacco.

Glendronach 10 Year Old Port Wood - 70cl 46%
Date Added: Wednesday 19 February, 2020
This is such a rich and complex whisky! You can definitely notice the influence of the oloroso sherry cask maturation and the finish in Port casks. Deep cherry colour, syrupy sweetness, juicy and fruity. Apples, blackberries, peppercorn spice, oak and raisins on the finish. It’s a pity that is a limited release!

Pound for pound one of the best whiskies money can buy. Absolutely delicious, rich, sherried single malt.

Glendronach 12 Year Old Original - 70cl 43%
Date Added: Sunday 19 July, 2020
A very pleasant surprise! Initially a very nice mouthful of dried fruits followed perfectly with well balanced-soft woody notes the sweetness of which is nicely challenged by a hint of Iodine. A very enjoyable malt indeed, would recommend and purchase for myself.
