VegaFina Classic Robusto Tubos Cigar - 1 Single

Absolutely fantabulous cigar. Dont usually fall in with the overtly over the top description of cigars i.e creamy, woody etc,but this actually tastes creamy and sweet. One note though, these arent worth buying in this country. Buy else where,i know in most Europe countries this, the Maduro and the Nicaraguan version are ~€6.

A personal opinion here… A pretty characterless cigar, low on flavour and enjoyment. The first third was quite harsh and earthy slowly getting smoother when approaching the second third. Throughout the second and third third it remained dull and gradually more woody and peppery in its finish. This has convinced me that Perdomo cigars are more to my personal taste and the quality is that much better, in my personal opinion. A underwhelming cigar and one to be left on the shelf – I certainly will not buy another. I hope this helps my fellow cigar lovers!

Solid mild smoke. Really enjoyed this one and would definitely purchase again. I actually picked this up from the shop in Chester rather than online.

tried these several times now, and over half the time the burn was so bad i couldn't even finish the cigar. a lovely cigar when it gets going but its far from cheap and when it fails to burn or draw over half the time its hard to justify the price.

Reviewed by Mark Dickenson (May 2001) As a general rule, cigars with larger ring gauges tend to be fuller flavoured (there is normally more ligero and less volado in the blend), smoke more smoothly and slowly, and heat less fast than those with small ring gauges. They also tend to be better made than the smaller ones (which are the sizes recently qualified apprentices start on). Cigars with small ring gauges have little or no ligero in the blend. Large ring gauge cigars are almost always the preferred choice –if there is no hurry- of connoisseurs or experienced cigar smokers -'The Cigar Companion: The Connoisseur's Guide, 3rd Edition', Anwer Bati, Simon Chase'The Cigar Companion: The Connoisseur's Guide, 3rd Edition', Anwer Bati, Simon Chase As a Hermoso #4 the Vegas Robaina Famosos join the distinguished company of the H.Upmann Connoisseurs #1, Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme, Romeo Exhibition #4, and Saint Luis Rey Regios, some of my favourite smokes. This had great potential looked great from the outside, cut cleanly but a prelighting drawn immediately warned me how tight the cigar was. I can not say that I again disappointed at the quality control of Cuban cigars over those from the New World. I prefer Cubans but they are hit and miss and at the current prices that it is fair risk. When I did achieve a decent mouthful of smoke this cigar was great but so hard to smoke. Cuba needs to raise its game and become more consistent, the products are great BUT expensive and when you spend this sort of money perfection is not an unreasonable expectation, especially from an EMS cigar. Hunters & Frankau take note. I bought two Ramon Allones Specially Selected in St Tropez and they were excellent which begs the question as to whether the UK gets the best anymore.
