Kendal Bosun Medium Flake Pipe Tobacco 40g - End of Line
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
Bosun has a similar body and a very similar character to Condor and Coniston Cut Plug, with hints of geranium and wood, but this time, the emphasis is far more on the woody side than the floral side. This gives a far richer tasting smoke, with a little more sweetness than the Coniston. One of my personal favourites for a day to day smoke. Calum - Turmeaus Chester

Kendal Brown Unscented Medium Flake Pipe Tobacco - 30g Sample
Date Added: Friday 06 October, 2017
Trying this for the first time, I'm not getting any 'airborne' Lakeland taste for which I am thankful. This is one that GH have not 'polluted'. It's sweet and flavoursome but the described note is missing. Odd. But as taste is subjective not a concern. This took to the flame very well, a little too thick cut to fold and stuff, so a tad of rubbing out was called for. This is by now bowl number three. Cubing was a no-no, this tobacco wants love and attention not brutality with a blade. Heavy rubbing out (bowl 2) made it zip along and the bowl was gone, ashes to ashes style. Room note is negligible, the cat has not complained yet and he does, often. Luckily for me the wife has no sense of smell so even pure Latakia doesn't faze her. Leaving the room I smoke in and re-entering some ten minutes later I noted a pleasant round aroma of quality tobacco , no cigarette nastiness, just pipe smoke. I shall be buying more of this. The next bowl will be a mixing experiment, perhaps with a little Turkish/Izmir to see if I can brighten the taste, with a touch more acridity. An excellent GH product.

Kendal Coniston Unscented Cut Plug Pipe Tobacco (Loose)
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
Coniston Cut Plug In my opinion, this is the closest to Condor that we have. As a cut plug, it’s most similar to condor long cut (although technically a little shorter cut) but if you prefer Condor Ready Rubbed, it’s pretty easy to rub out to the same consistency… if you ask us nicely, we might even do it for you 😉. As for the taste, it shares Condor’s cool, medium bodied character and distinctively floral and woody notes on the palate. Even when we’re not struggling to get Condor, I often recommend this to Condor smokers who fancy a change… but not too much of a change! Calum - Turmeaus Chester

Kendal Coniston Unscented Cut Plug Pipe Tobacco (Loose)

This, for me, is a very nostalgic smoke. The dark, burnt tobacco awakens recollection of locomotives arriving at the platform wreathed in the smoke from Welsh steam coal or that sweet charcoal smell of pubs with open fires and pipe-smokers gathered round. Strong and delicious

Kendal Ennerdale Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
This is the most full bodied of the range. While the strength of the casing isn’t quite as potent as the Grasmere, it more than makes up for it with a base of rich dark tobacco that gives this blend a full, dark chocolatey backbone. Interestingly, there’s also a hint of clove in there which would normally put me off, but I think it works really well with the overall sweetness of the blend. Calum - Turmeaus Chester
