DREW ESTATE

The Drew Estate story is one of daring, heartbreak & success but, most of all, one of passion for cigars and the country of Nicaragua, where we have been making cigars since 1996.

Jonathan Drew & Marvin Samel are not your average cigar makers, their story does not start in Cuba, or with fathers in the cigar business. It started with a dream, and through their can-do spirit and never-say-die attitude made Drew Estate one of the premier cigar manufacturers on the planet. The two frat brothers from New York started out small…. Small, as in a 16 square foot retail kiosk in the World Trade Center in NYC.

In late 1998, Jonathan Drew moved to Esteli, Nicaragua with the hopes of starting a rebirth in the cigar world. With a handful of rollers and an even smaller handful of money, the story of “That Crazy Gringo” began.

KENTUCKY FIRE CURED

Kentucky Fire Cured is not something new to the world of tobacco, as it has been grown for over 200 years.

The blend features Kentucky seed tobacco grown and fire cured in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, along with Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar is wrapped with a Mexican San Andres wrapper with a sweetened tip. The mouth feel on the cigar is like bacon maple goodness mixed with bourbon and barbecue.

Tasting Notes

Easily compared to the smoky taste attributed to a peaty scotch, the KFC picks up nuances of the roasted hickory, oak or maple wood.

One word fantastic! I love all things drew estate but I must admit I was dubious about fire cured! I definitely think it’s like marmite you either love it or hate it but luckily I loved it! I would say buy one and give it ago I think most people would be pleasantly surprised

A great cigar from the off Opening the packaging you get the super sticky bbq sauce aroma. The fire curing definitely gives this cigar its unique taste and smell. Plenty of sweet smoke, ash held on well and a very even burn Give these a try you won’t be disappointed Buy Buy Buy

I am a huge fan of Drew estate acid cigars, so this caught my eye and got casually bunged in the basket with my holiday cigars. I assumed it would be horrible like smoking a bonfire. It certainly smells like a bonfire (in a sort of good way) slightly overpowering to start it really was like standing too close to a smouldering heavy wood fire. Going purely on the smell alone I probably wouldnt have smoked it but have learnt to persevere with the offerings from Drew estate. Construction was excellent, neat cap the cigar looks subtle but interesting. I sparked It up and powered through the head in a bonfire sensation of the first few minutes, then after that with each puff I started to enjoy it more and by the end I was upset I didnt purchase any more. Definitely not your conventional cigar but then thats not what Drew estate is about. If ever there was a cigar maker that challenges what you think a cigar should be like and consistently delivers interesting and genuinely unexpected awesome smokes Drew Estate is it. I will throw caution to the wind every time the Willy Wonkers of cigar making Churns out a new idea. Where can I sign up to be a Drew Estate tester...
