A miniature bottle of The Singleton of Auchroisk 1981 single malt Scotch whisky.
Auchroisk was built in 1972 to provide malt for the J & B blends.
The first single malt was released in 1986 under the Singleton brand, and the maturation process was an early example of cask-finishing, with boubon-matured malt transferred to sherry casks for a further two years ageing.
This pioneering move was not highly publicised, so The Balvenie and Glenmorangie are generally recognised as the first to experiment with cask-finishing.
Please note as this is a vintage miniature, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).
