This brand owes its origin to the refined taste of the French market. Created in the 1970's, the name is taken from a well-known street in Paris beside the River Seine.

All Quai d'Orsay sizes are made with a light tasting blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone and its wrappers are mainly distinguished by their Claro (light brown) and Colorado Claro (mid brown) colours.

Tasting Notes

A perfect draw with a nice mild flavour. Generally very consistent and although mild, they have loads of flavour.

88 / 100

"...This sandy coloured, veiny cigar has a firm draw at first, but opens up to reveal some cedary flavours, wine notes and a touch of salt on the finish..."

I ordered a Quai D'Orsay Coronas Orchant Selection Cigar but was sent one of these instead. Not overly happy that I didn't get the double banded variant but I was pleased with the taste and quality of the one substituted. This was a lovely smoke that was sweet and easy from the light to being left to extinguish itself. It was wonderful with a good quality coffee and their conflicting tastes complimented each other perfectly. Only spoiled by not being what I ordered! Reply from C.Gars

I'm so sorry for the mix up, we have arranged for the correct cigar to be sent to you.

A good quick smoke with subtle flavours. As others have mentioned, it had an 'airy' draw, which I was not adverse to, and produced billowing clouds of sweet smoke. If some of the stronger cigars available were likened to a main course, this would make an ideal starter.

The first 1/3 was very light, creamy with loads of white smoke, the 2/3 was a little more woody with a hint of cinnamon still sweet and overall still mild, this continued through to last third. Loads of sweet white smoke, never had a habana so smokey to be honest ( no bad thing ) only slight draw back ironically was the draw, which was a little airy and I prefer a little more resistance, but overall a good smoke and would buy again, definitely a safe bet if avoiding the risk of a harsh smoke. Recommended for a beginner.

Slight update to my previous review. I smoked one straight from my humidor, rather than a one-day box drying. Which makes it more flavoursome and less "airy". It is still a light, smoke that is smooth and with a subtle floral sweetness. Overall a 3.5/5
