Kilchoman PX Sherry Cask - 50% 70cl

In the 2023 PX Sherry Cask Matured release, the distillery presents its inaugural limited edition that has undergone full maturation in PX casks

The whisky is a marriage of 33 casks, 9 fully matured in Pedro Ximénez casks and 24 finished in PX casks for between 12 and 18 months.

Kilchoman core range of whiskies include oloroso sherry in their maturation, a medium-dry style of sherry which gives their whiskies a range of cooked and dried fruit influence.

PX differs from this by being a sweeter, richer type of sherry that gives Kilchoman whisky layers of prunes, caramel balancing beautifully with the citrus sweetness, cooked fruits and maritime peat smoke.

This particular release is limited to just 12,000 bottles worldwide (47.3% abv).

Nose: Sweet sultanas and raisins with rounded peat smoke and layers of liquorice and hints of citrus sweetness.

Palate: Brown sugar and malty sweetness then orange peel, citrus, dark chocolate and waves of sherry sweetness.

Finish: Chocolate coated raisins, oak smoke, mixed spices and lasting PX sweetness.
