Jose L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Habano not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region, but also because it is made using the totally hand made, short filler technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880's from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century, and started to make cigars.

Tasting Notes

Well-made and also very good in the draw, this cigar carries rich, earthy aromas with rougher undertones. Always a pleasure to come back to these beauties.

Hmm, I dont really know what these cigars are for. I mean, how many people are there wholl buy these only once. I got some in Madrid airport because they were cheap, and now I wish Id spent the money on that lovely pair of castanets. Better to spend you money on something from Dominica or Honduras. And Im a real Cuba-phile! written by Rob, London

In a word - awful! The wrapper split right from the start. It ran with tar, and the odour could best be described as "Stinks of poo-poo." I suppose I was letting myself in for it by buying such a cheap cigar. I made the mistake of buying another "just to make sure". I will certainly not be repeating the mistake again! written by Dave Watson
