The signature Isle of Raasay Single Malt.
Batch R-02, released in September 2021 has been created using the same cask types as R-01 with the main difference being a slightly higher peat level in the bottle (about 12ppm).
From the Isle of Raasay distillery, this is the first legal distillery on the Hebridean island.
Raasay's single malt release is an assemblage of unpeated and peated spirits matured in first-fill Rye whiskey casks, virgin Chinkapin oak and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks.
Every drop distilled, matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay.
Nose: Lightly peated - aromatic smoke.
Palate: Fruit- cherry, apricot, blackcurrant. Savoury spice- black pepper, cinnamon. Sweet spice - crystalised ginger.
Finish: Sandalwood, vanilla & butterscotch. A hint of saltiness.
