The Davidoff Special 53 Limited Edition 2020 was rated #3 by Cigar Journals Top 25: Cigar of the Year 2020. 

Davidoff is bringing back the Special «53» - Capa Dominicana, a limited edition cigar first launched in 2002. This limited edition was created in a unique 53-ring gauge Perfecto format crafted solely of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. First achieved in 2002 when growing the reined wrapper leafs in the Dominican Republic was deemed impossible.
The beautiful Perfecto cigar, with tobaccos from different regions of the Dominican Republic and tobaccos aged for 10 years.

No-one else could.
No-one else could have imagined a Dominican Puro back in 2002.
No-one else could fashion such an exquisite blend entirely from tobaccos native to the Dominican Republic.
No-one else could create a wrapper from the Yamasa region which had defeated other growers and yet yielded its soil’s special properties to Davidoff’s expert agronomists.
No-one else could imagine a 53 ring-gauge format. Everyone else’s imagination stopped at 52.
No-one else could have produced moulds so perfectly perfect for the 2002 Puro that they have never been used since and have only been brought out of retirement for this re-release.
No-one else could produce a Puro which is so beautifully, instantly mature. The wrapper is ten years old, the binder eight, the iller over six. No-one could have the skill, resources and blend archives to recreate the unique experience of 2002 in 2020. The ‘2’ has moved but the sensational taste has stayed the same.
Indeed, no-one else could craft and create the Special «53» – Capa Domincana. The most important exclusive, however, doesn’t belong to Davidoff.
