A single cask, cask strength release from Bruichladdich, aged in a bourbon cask for 14 years, distilled from Optic barley.
This is limited to 246 bottles and is a UK exclusive!
Part of their Micro-Provenance series, exploring ageing whisky on Islay, this time in a Bourbon cask.
Distilled in May 2006, this Bruichladdich was matured for 14 years in a single ex-bourbon cask (Cask 0417); with the idea that this cask finish allows you to try the liquid in its most "natural" form before being bottled at an ABV of 62.3% in September 2020.
Limited to 1 per customer - please note, stock is limited from secondary market releases.
Nose: Sweet oak and hot mashed barley which is balanced by a brilliant combination of zesty citrus fruits and the floral notes of wild flowers and plants growing on the cliffs and coastline of our storm lashed coast.
Palate: After some 10 minutes, the soft fruits created by slow distillation rise serenely, coated with a dash of honey and lemon, and then add a twist of spiced cinnamon with vanilla syrup, pear and melon.
Finish: Long and rich.
