A stunning Flora and Fauna release from the Blair Athol distillery.
Blair Athol's house style is quite heavily sherried, you don't see much of it on the market though, as it all goes in to Bell's blended whisky.
Blair Athol works best served in a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a little water.
The creamy subtlety of a vanilla cheesecake provides the perfect base line to the melody of Blair Athol’s flavours.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Muscat grapes and Madeira wine, brimstone in the background, even tar. Dried apricots in the foreground, and treacle toffee.
Palate: Rich and mouth-filling, with a good balance.
Finish: A curious sweetness is introduced at the end, after the acidity and dryish finish has passed.

Serious flavour in this one, when you want to step up a notch from the more floral tones of other whiskies of the Highland class. My go-to Christmas whisky. Moved to Highland whiskies when the heavy peat sloggers started giving me heart-burn(!) and this is a great one to move to. Now entirely prefer Highland over the heavier medicine.
