Ardbeg Alligator Committee Reserve For Discussion - 51.2% 70cl - RARE

The Ardbeg Committee release in June 2011 which was bottled 'for discussion'.

The new American White Oak barrels are charred to such an extent that they start to crack a little on the inside, and this resembles alligator skin, thus the name.

Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).

Nose: It shows all the power of Ardbeg 10, with charcoal, medicinal peat and smoke, but also added notes of cocoa, marzipan and sweet barbecue sauce. A little vanilla and burnt sugar. Nice balance of sweet and savoury notes.

Palate: Medium weight and medium peat, more gentle than I've come to expect from Ardbeg lately. Lots of pepper and ginger. Some cardamom. Charcoal and vanilla. Some liquorice. 

Finish: Tarry with coffee and chocolate, but shorter than expected.
