Description Ref # DUN566

This Christmas pipe continues the 12-year themeThe Nutcracker and the Mouse King’, which began in 2011 and will end in 2022.

It is based on the characters of the children’s book ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ by German author Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann and the famous ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

This being the 11th pipe in the series, it depicts the battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, both central characters in the story.

The pipe is a classic group 4 Billiard pipe (4103) in Shell Briar finish. It features a solid Sterling Silver ring that has been set into the outside rim of the pipe and is fitted with a decoratively engraved Sterling Silver band.

The impressive pipe tamper is 60.5 mm long and crafted from solid Sterling Silver. It depicts in great detail the winged Sugar Plum Fairy.

The highly collectable White Spot Christmas pipes and tampers are presented in a leather-bound book held in attractive blue & red colours with gold embossing to represent the uniform of the Nutcracker. Each set is accompanied by its numbered limited edition certificate.

This edition series is strictly limited to annually only 300 pipes worldwide.

This Dunhill 2021 Christmas pipe is #158 of only #300 made.

A little history of Alfred Dunhill:

Alfred Dunhill, famous for supplying briar smoking pipes to the most elite clientele in the world since 1904.
He had only two principles that would guide the production of Dunhill Pipes:

Firstly: pipes would be made of only the finest quality briar, with exacting care by expert craftsmen.
Secondly: the pipes would be priced accordingly so that the customer would recognise the value of a product.
The Dunhill pipe is made to last a lifetime. The pipe smokes well and continues to do so with age.

In 1915, the famous white spot pipe range was introduced when customers had trouble knowing which way to insert the handmade vulcanite mouthpieces, In solution of this Alfred Dunhill ordered white spots to be placed on the upper side of the stem. This would now become a trademark of Dunhill pipes and the “white spot” soon became known as a symbol of quality.

Comes complete in a White Spot pouch and box.

This pipe has been individually photographed, so that the pipe you see in the picture is the pipe you will receive.
