Description

A very impressive offering from indie bottler Signatory here for the Symington's Choice range, distilled at Glenrothes in 1995.

Distilled 19th May 1995 at the Glenrothes distillery then laid to rest in a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt until 2023.

Cask 6176 was cracked open and bottled after 28 years maturation and released as part of the Cask Strength Collection series.

One of 453 numbered bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense sherry; behind it a nice dark fruitiness with cherries and raisins; lots of nougat chocolate. Beautifully complex and beautifully balanced nose.

Palate: Balanced and pleasant on the palate in the mouth; sweet and fruity accompanied by a tingling spiciness of fine old wood; cherries; plums; raisins; noble bitter chocolate and dark fruits. 

Finish: Only delicate fruit notes; cherries; raisins; lots of dark chocolate; spicy notes; old oak wood.
