Since 1865, the Glenfarclas distillery has been run and owned by only one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas.
The family casks are some of the most sought after whiskies in the world!
The impressive cask stock in the Glenfarclas warehouses means there has been a great output of vintage distillery bottlings in addition to their core range age statements.
Part of a portion of Family Casks bottlings that was released in the winter of 2015, only 70 bottles of this expression were produced.
This was aged in a single Sherry hogshead and bottled in August 2015 for Glenfarclas' extensive Family Cask range.
A real collectors joy!
Nose: Complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: Long and dry with gentle warm spice.
