Montecristo Open J Cigar - 1 Single

I suppose that my first impressions is that the Open J is a bit of a disappointment, but thats not really so. In fact it is a perfectly good cigar, its just I had expected a little bit more from it. My comments would be that the draw was really good, it lit well, burned evenly, held its ash well and the construction was very good. However I think its a little bit one dimensional and a No-5 thats aged a little, is easily as good, if a little milder. its a cigar that whilst I enjoyed, it did not challenge me to think about its complexity, simply because it doesnt have much of one.

Thought I'd give these a whirl. On first appearance you have a nice looking and substantial cigar for the money. Nice even burn but my god the draw is not good having previously smoked the novilla in this range I would of expected the same quality, unfortunately not the case. Overall the taste isn't to bad I have a couple in the humidor so will let them age a while before revisiting. Hence the 3 star

The Charatan tobacco arrived safely yesterday. I am really happy with the tobacco. Its very close if not the same as London mixture. Its quite a bit moister than the Dunhill. Required a small amount of dry time. No problem for me. The Virginias are sweeter and the orientals are dryer tasting. I actually think its a little better. Although it has been 8 months since I last smoked the Dunhill blend. Overall very happy with the product and thank you to C.Gars Ltd for excellent customer service.

Fabulous smoke! Great burn, nice ash, best of all a hearty taste. Not to be rushed, this is cigar to savour.

An amazing cigar. Probably the best one Ive had in terms of strength and taste. I would recommend one for special occasions or for a gift!
