Some nice flavours in the final third spoiled by the uneven burn and relatively poor construction.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 09 August, 2020
Smoked one of these that was gifted to me back in 2011. Wow.....beautiful cigar. I dont have a direct reference point as it was my first of the Maduro 5s but as a stand alone Cohiba it was exceptional. The sweetness on the palate was immense but beautifully balanced.....there is no substitute for age and quality. One small negative was that the second third burned slightly uneven and I had to re-light a few times but that could have been down to my personal management. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a box of these even at the current prices.

Montecristo Open Master Tubed Cigar - Pack of 3

Exceptional cigar. Don’t ask me for flowery language or flavour descriptions because I don’t have it in my locker. What I do know is I’d recommend you buy some of these because they’re a great smoke.

Oliva Serie V Double Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 08 August, 2020
Slightly harsh at the first light and through the first quarter. Construction looked spot on however it burned unevenly and kept going out, there were some obvious flaws internally with gaps. Predominantly leathery notes throughout not unpleasant but missing the dried fruit cocoa profile mentioned in other reviews. Seems I may have been unlucky and probably would explore other sticks from the brand. Didnt have that, give me more not wanting it to end feeling that I get from say a Alec Bradley Lineage or Nico puro. Not bad but for the money Id probably go for one of the above or asylum robusto which for me are a much more complex and interesting smoke.

Alec Bradley Orchant Seleccion Shorty Cigar - 1 Single

1. Appearance & Construction. From the outset this cigar looked real classy. Nice dark brown wrapper, smooth to touch and with no visible imperfections. Looked and felt like it had been rolled with care and the cigar had a nice weight to it. The label also looked real regal. 15/15. 2. Flavor and Aroma. From the cold draw there was hints of chocolate, wood, coffee and a tiny bit of spice. After lighting this cigar just exploded with flavor. Nice, deep, bold and intense balanced perfectly. As the cigar progressed towards the 2nd and final 3rd the spiciness grew but didnt overpower the other flavours. Real unique flavor. However I did feel that something was lacking, maybe needed some element of creaminess or sweetness. Did however feel that this is more towards the medium to full category then just medium. 20/25. 3. Smoking Characteristics. Cutting and lighting came easy for this cigar. There was an uneven burn throughout the course of the smoke and no amount of touching up was able to fix this. Kudos to the double binder element as it slowed down the burn and almo

Montecristo No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 08 August, 2020
Writing this review whilst smoking the last of 3 since the lockdown. Its settled down after the light. The burn hasnt been prefect but nothing that didnt self correct, slowing down helped I think and its also let the coffee cool down too. Its one of those scorching hot days weve been having so I wasnt that sure a hot coffee and a cigar were called for. Silly. Its a no2 and it smokes cool with a light smoke and smooth but certain draw. The cedar, pepper, spice are all perfectly balanced with no one aroma overpowering the others. Its hard to know where the coffee ends and the cigar starts. The garden pairties are tuned out of focus and there is relaxation.
