St Bruno Flake Pipe Tobacco 50g Pouch
Date Added: Sunday 31 January, 2021
A proper old school pipe tobacco. Having tried most of the old Dunhill range and various Kendal loose selections, I decided to try an old well-known brand. The strange off-putting smell when you first open it comes from the traditional vinegar they use as a natural preservative. I let the flakes breathe for half an hour before transferring to a small jar. Two whole flakes is almost perfect for my slightly larger than normal Rattray, a little less in my Peterson. It certainly has a unique flavour and packs a punch of nicotine. Its a proper, reasonably cool burning, tobacco tasting tobacco. Just be sure to let it air out the unpleasant vinegary aroma before you attempt this one!

Drew Estate Quick Puff Cigar Sampler - 6 Cigars
Date Added: Sunday 31 January, 2021
Liga Privada T52 Coronet – Very nice. Peppery but not too spicy. Leather and wood – reminds me of Romeo y Julieta No.2 Larutan Dirties – Nice. Sweet yummy chocolate, mild, less of a punch, more of a build-up. Undercrown Sungrown Coronet – Nope, not very enjoyable. Quite bitter and too peppery. Liga Privada No.9 Coronet – As per the T52, but a little more spicy. Nice, but prefer the T52. Undercrown Maduro Coronet – Much nicer than the Sungrown above. Smoother, with leather and spice and a dash of pepper. So far the best of the Undercrowns. Undercrown Shade Coronet – Very nice, but a little too mild for my liking. Better than the Sungrown, but not as nice as the Maduro. Warm and leathery, smooth but could do with a bit more of the pepper. Tabak Especial Oscuro Cafecita – On a par with the Larutan Chocolate Dirty, but I prefer the chocolate to the coffee. Very nice though... Overall opinion? Excellent sampler for those who don’t know Drew. I didn’t have the best opinion of Nicaraguans and always favoured Cubans, but these are very good. All of them were just right o

Padron 1926 Series No. 2 Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 28 January, 2021
Padron cigars are highly regarded and with good reason too. Like all Padrons this cigar has a nice rustic tobacco appearance and a crude single cap. In an age where triple caps are some kind of construction marvel i like the fact Padron does a single cap that allegedly can be biten off so you can smoke it without a cutter. Ive smoked way too many triple capped cigars that were plugged or badly rolled. Padron cigars feel light and not densly packed. When you light them they produce lots of smoke and have a very comfortable, loose draw which i find enjoyable. The 1926 maduro is a very classy, solid but fairly one note blend in the Nicaraguan flavour spectrum. In terms of value id argue its a bit on the expensive side for what it is. It is of course a very, very nice cigar so ultimately i do think its a cigar every stogie smoker should try.

Snowdonia Foragers Gin Black Label - 46% 70cl

Ive been looking for a new Gin as my go to. I struck gold with this one, incredible smooth flavours throughout. The juniper flavours are mellowed out by the Sea Buckthorn making this one of the greatest Gins in the world.

Got given a bottle over Christmas, and have since re-ordered for myself twice! Lovely crisp notes you could expect from a classic style gin, either with a mixer or on its one I absolutely love it! Roll on summer days with a bottle of this by my side.
