Davidoff Winston Churchill Traveller Belicoso Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 26 July, 2021
It’s hard to review this cigar as a stand-alone smoke, without considering where it sits in the Davidoff Dominican range. It’s obviously a larger format than the primeros at the same price, but I think there is a slight compromise for that. It feels like a more serious cigar but it also felt, dare I say, lacking in the usual Davidoff sophistication. It’s a decent hit of nicotine but it’s not as smooth as the primeros or the entreacto. First third left me hoping something would ‘kick in’, second third gave me a couple of lovely hits of cream and spice, which were disappointingly inconsistent and far too brief and the final third teetered on the edge of being hot. Draw and construction were fine, although mine was a tiny bit on the tight side, which I don’t mind I must say. The aroma is fantastic! Personally, I’d go primeros for the money, or spend a few more pennies to get one of the serious Davidoff’s. If the cream and spice ran throughout, this would be amazing, but then I doubt it would cost only ten pounds of your hard earned. Slightly confusing one this, which tends to result in

Regius Connecticut Grandido Cigar - 1 Single

Not cheap, (with UK taxes what is?) but what a nice surprise!! Lit about 20 minutes before I went out to empty Dogface, had a good hours walk and came home to enjoy the rest , with a nice whiskey and a cold Bud, perfect! Quite a mild cigar, Im getting used to a larger ring gauge, a more heavy smoke, but this was lovely, good draw, no issues whatsoever, no wrapper problems after I got her going and touched up the burn, CGars almost never let me down except for some of the Cubans I dont buy anymore. Highly recommended for a nice long puff, mild to the end and a nice, memorable taste on the lip, Ill be keeping a couple in my humidor for days like today. Highly recommended for a nice long walk of the dig, or a good movie on the TV. Cant give it a five but near as damnit.

Davidoff Primeros Nicaragua Cigar - 1 Single

Big personality in a 20 minute format. Beautiful to look at, a rich and inviting unlit aroma and top construction. With the cap cut and the foot torched, a heavenly and thick smoke fills the air. The draw is perfect, the taste is sublime. Cream, subtle spice and earth. The perfect morning or afternoon coffee accompaniment. Next up, the Nicaragua short Corona!

Casa Turrent Origenes Nicaragua Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 23 July, 2021
Casa Turrent make excellent cigars and are clearly trying different styles with its growing range. I am working my way through all of them, the Claro being my favourite so far. This one is like a typical dark/medium Nicaraguan. Slightly bitter taste, chocolate, coffee, odd hints of sweetness. Its good for the price. Burns slow and gives off lots of smoke. An easy draw. The bitter taste is whats stopping my give it 5 stars, but Im sure some people like that or its my palette, but its not for me. Worth trying if you like the other dark ones from Casa Turrent or Nicaraguans like Joya Silver or the Plasencia Orchant.

Sancho Panza Belicosos Cigar - 1 Single

Very nice cuban in my favourite vitola. Wrapper has hints of sweet tasting on the lips which was a welcome dimension to an all round excellent smoke. Didnt want to put it out. My only minor gripe is that it burned quicker than other Cubans Ive had.
