Mitchellero Corona Cigar - Box of 20

Nothing but praise for this Nicaraguan blend from Mitchel Orchant. A really pleasant and enjoyable hours smoke.
With hints of Cedar and citrus, and an almost butterscotch sweetness, this has proven to be a superb blend. Smooth , easy draw with flavour to the end.
Reading other reviews, I gave these 4 days in the humidor, which I think made the difference.
I wouldnt exactly call them cheap as that hints at lower quality, which these most certainly are not! This is a splendid cigar for the price.

I struggles with this one. Great price and I enjoyed the flavours. However, it didnt seem as well constructed as others in this range; mainly my favourite the Picadillo. Personally I would buy those instead but I will admit after reading then other reviews I could just have an odd one with bad construction. Ill let someone who has purchased a box of these comment on consistency. I do have another to try myself so Ill soon see.
For those concerned about this brand and price though, dont worry! For a good smoke that doesnt break the bank you cant really go wrong and it holds it own in the New World range.

I was disappointed by this cigar. It felt lightweight and insubstantial and produced so much smoke that I had to sit next to the window to avoid setting of the smoke alarm. It burned quickly, went out if less for any length of time and delivered a rather tarry aftertaste.

Oliva Orchant Seleccion Skinny Cigar - Box of 10

Absolutely stunning cigar, straight from the box.
Arrived as box of cello-wrapped cigars, with a small boveda sachet.
Couldnt resist trying - so lit one up immediately.
I was very surprised at how good this is. The aroma is delicious and complex, there are a variety of flavours. I tasted nuts, milk chocolate, sweetened tea leaves, perfume, a touch of spice, occasional cardamom and coriander.
The Oliva Serie V robusto is similar in flavour (and a very sturdy and consistent cigar), but this is on another level. Its got a flavour profile that is somewhere between a R&J at its best, and HDM Epi 2 (circa 2018), with a touch of Padron. No harshness, no intense smoky / coffee / earthy flavours like Davidoff.
I love Cuban cigars. But this is the best non-Cuban Ive tried out of hundreds.
Of course Im yet to let them loose in the humidor - they may get better or worse with time ( Olivas seem to be very resistant to changes in humidity).. but right now Im a very happy customer.

A great smoke, its my first time drawing from a horizontal cut so the it was an interesting pull.
Medium bodied to me as a infrequent smoker but the flavour developed well and the smoke lasted a good hour or so.
I think Id give it a 7.5/10 as a new world, a 7/10 as a cigar overall.
The slimmer profile from where you draw leads to a fair bit of heat building up towards to tail end of your smoke that can be off putting but it was incredibly easy to light thanks to that sharp pull.
If youre in the market for a well rounded new world, I would recommend it.

My first Cuban cigar ever and I really was missing out!! Usually I go for cheaper cigars like the Invicta or Charltan but they have nothing on a Cuban! There was a slight crack at the end which was disappointing but the team sent me a replacement, but being my first Cuban I didn’t want that to spoil the experience having spent my pay rise on some Cubans.
It smoked perfectly! Nice and even! Smooth as anything! Had some nice flavours and not that much build up as it came to the end.
Needless to say this will be my go to cigar from now on! I have been converted. But will limit it to special occasions.
Highly recommend for a first smoke!
