Alec Bradley Orchant Seleccion Shorty Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
The Alec Bradley Orchant Selección was an interesting one for me. I’ve heard a lot about Alec Bradley cigars, and this particular collaboration blend felt like a good introduction. Right away, I noticed earthy notes with cedar and a bit of sweetness, almost like molasses. The construction was very good—solid draw, steady burn, and plenty of smoke output. Midway through, I picked up more cocoa and spice, which gave it a richer character. It’s medium-bodied overall, making it approachable but not boring. The flavors were balanced, though I wouldn’t say they blew me away. What I liked most was the smoothness—it never became harsh, and I was able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. Toward the final third, the spice kicked up a little more, along with some nutty flavors, which gave it a satisfying finish. For me, this cigar felt dependable and enjoyable, though maybe not as memorable as some of the other brands I’ve tried. Still, it’s a solid choice and one I’d recommend to someone looking to explore Alec Bradley without diving straight into their stronger blends. Rating: 7/10

Mitchellero Sporty Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
The Mitchellero Sporty was a straightforward smoke that felt very much like an everyday kind of cigar. It’s small and quick, which makes it convenient, but it doesn’t deliver the same depth as some of the larger formats. Flavor-wise, it’s earthy and woody with just a touch of pepper, but it stays fairly one-dimensional throughout. The draw was a bit tight on the one I smoked, though still manageable. The burn was mostly even, and the ash held on better than I expected for a smaller cigar. This isn’t a complex or fancy smoke, but I can see it being handy for situations where you don’t have time for a full robusto or corona. It has a rustic charm, but compared to the Mitchellero Robusto, it felt a little underwhelming. The strength is mild-to-medium, so it’s easy enough for a beginner to handle, though it doesn’t really deliver the same satisfaction as some of the other cigars I’ve tried. Overall, I’d say it works as a casual or quick smoke, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if I had more time. Rating: 6/10

Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe Cigar - Tin of 5
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
The Hoyo de Monterrey Major Coronas might be my favorite Cuban so far. It’s often described as light in strength but rich in flavor, and I found that to be spot on. From the first puff, I was met with a creamy smoothness, with flavors of cedar, honey, and a touch of floral sweetness. It felt elegant and approachable, never overpowering but always interesting. The construction was excellent—an even burn, perfect draw, and plenty of smoke. Midway, the flavors opened up more, with hints of nuts and a subtle citrus note that added freshness. The aroma was beautiful too—sweet, woody, and inviting. I really enjoyed how this cigar managed to stay light yet complex; it never felt flat or boring, and it was easy to smoke slowly and savor. By the final third, it developed a little more spice and depth, rounding off the experience nicely. For me, this is the kind of cigar that feels timeless—refined, smooth, and always enjoyable. It’s the one I’d recommend to any beginner who wants to experience Cuban quality without being overwhelmed. Rating: 9/10

H. Upmann Coronas Major Tubed Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
The H. Upmann Major Coronas felt like a really classic Cuban experience for me. Right from the start, there was that signature smoothness—cedar, light spice, and a creamy texture that made it very approachable. The draw was just right, offering a steady flow of aromatic smoke. Flavor-wise, it had a nice balance of wood, earth, and a touch of nuttiness. About halfway through, I noticed a floral note along with some sweetness that kept things interesting. The burn line wasn’t perfect, but it corrected itself without much effort. What stood out most was how refined it felt—everything was in harmony, with no harshness or bitterness. Compared to some of the stronger Nicaraguan smokes I’ve tried, this felt more subtle and elegant, though still full of character. By the final third, the flavors deepened, with more earth and spice, but it never lost its smoothness. This cigar gave me a real sense of Cuban tradition and why brands like H. Upmann are so respected. I’d definitely keep a few of these on hand for when I want something classic and dependable. Rating: 8/10

Room 101 Farce Maduro Corona Papi Chulo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
Room 101 Farce was definitely one of the more unique smokes I’ve had as a beginner. It’s marketed as a complex, medium-to-full-bodied blend, and that complexity really came through. On the first few puffs, I got this interesting mix of earth, pepper, and a subtle sweetness, almost like dried fruit. The flavors shifted quite a bit as it went along, which kept me on my toes. At times, there was cocoa and espresso; other times, more wood and spice. The construction was solid, though I did need one touch-up on the burn. The draw was easy, and the smoke output was thick and satisfying. I can see why people say this cigar has layers—it felt like it kept evolving, which was exciting but also a little challenging for someone new like me. It’s definitely not a one-note cigar, and I think that makes it worth trying if you want to push your palate. The strength built toward the end, with more pepper and richness, but it never got overwhelming. Overall, I enjoyed it, though I’d say it’s better suited for when you’re in the mood to pay attention. Flor De Oliva Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 03 September, 2025
The Flor de Oliva was a pleasant surprise, considering it’s one of the more budget-friendly cigars I’ve come across. Right away, it delivered a nice balance of flavors: earthy, slightly sweet, with touches of cedar and nuts. The construction wasn’t flawless—there were a couple of uneven burn issues—but overall it smoked much better than I expected at this price. The draw was easy, producing plenty of smoke, which made it enjoyable to puff on. About halfway through, I noticed a more pronounced sweetness, almost like caramel, mixed with a bit of spice. It’s not overly complex, but it doesn’t feel boring either. The strength is medium, making it approachable for someone like me still learning what I like. Toward the end, it picked up a little more body, with more wood and spice, though it never got harsh. This cigar feels like a great daily option—affordable enough not to worry about, but flavorful enough to keep you interested. It’s not in the same league as some of the premium cigars I’ve tried, but it definitely punches above its weight. Rating: 7/10
