Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 20 October, 2007
A year or two ago I posted a review about these cigars and had to conclude that the construction let them down. Having smoked a great many more since then I can finally comment more fully. The aroma is great, as is the strong leathery flavour - very enjoyable with almost any spirit and even with strong coffee. These cigars offer one of the very best ways to spend 50 minutes of your life. Back to construction: A good third of all the examples I have tried (almost a dozen now, bought from various places and from various boxes) have suffered from being too easy on the draw. In some cases its almost as though the cigar isn't there at all, shame really. When these are good, they are amongst the best you'll find. Unfortunately the construction problem I found does not seem to have been a fluke. Worth a try (but buy 2 to make sure of getting 1!) written by Medic Mike

Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 20 October, 2007
Recently got one of these in a big box of singles I treated myself to. The wrapper looked great and the smell was fantastic. On cutting I tried a practise draw and thought all was well. When lit, however, the cigar seemed to offer no draw resistance whatsoever. Take a bundle of straws, and try to breathe through them - youll see what I mean. What flavour there was available, was excellent though. Bolivar are certainly one of my favourite makers, but this was a severe disappointment. I would try another to see if this was a rogue. Shame really.... written by Medic Mike

Kendal Ennerdale Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
This is the most full bodied of the range. While the strength of the casing isn’t quite as potent as the Grasmere, it more than makes up for it with a base of rich dark tobacco that gives this blend a full, dark chocolatey backbone. Interestingly, there’s also a hint of clove in there which would normally put me off, but I think it works really well with the overall sweetness of the blend. Calum - Turmeaus Chester

Kendal Glengarry Bright Flake Pipe Tobacco (Loose) - 30g Sample
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
Glengary Flake In no way related to the curse word laden David Mamet play Glengarry Glen Ross (film adaption staring Al Pacino) this flake sits at the milder end of the spectrum. It still has some of the floral notes, but with a far sweeter and more delicate taste, with hints of honeydew. We’re straying a little away from the Condor-esque blends here, but it could make for a nice change while you’re waiting for your old favourite to return! This is an good alternative to the Condor range. Calum - Turmeaus Chester

Kendal Coniston Unscented Cut Plug (Formerly Wood & Nuts) Pipe Tobacco (Loose)
Date Added: Tuesday 12 September, 2017
Coniston Cut Plug In my opinion, this is the closest to Condor that we have. As a cut plug, it’s most similar to condor long cut (although technically a little shorter cut) but if you prefer Condor Ready Rubbed, it’s pretty easy to rub out to the same consistency… if you ask us nicely, we might even do it for you 😉. As for the taste, it shares Condor’s cool, medium bodied character and distinctively floral and woody notes on the palate. Even when we’re not struggling to get Condor, I often recommend this to Condor smokers who fancy a change… but not too much of a change! Calum - Turmeaus Chester
