J. Cortes High Class Honduran Cigar - Orange - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 01 November, 2013
J Cortez high class Honduran orange. Aesthetics - pretty rough looking machine made cigar, patchy brown to tan wrapper with fairly untidy cap. Pre-punched so can be smoked straight away but punch hole is very small. Feels fairly spongy, neither too dry nor too moist, a lot like a guantanamera Cristales (which being a machine-made "utility smoke", I will compare it to quite a lot) in that respect Light and first impressions - lit ok, took a little bit of nursing to really get going but I think the fact the "veiny" element of the wrapper gives it an uneven thickness is probably at least partially responsible for this. Not producing huge amounts of smoke but it's quite a small cigar I guess. Quite a loose draw but the small diameter of the punched hole in the cap makes it a little firmer I think, were you to actually cut this cigar, you'd probably find yourself smoking it very quickly. There's an unusual fizzing and pooping sound that comes with the draw too which I can't explain, almost sounds like fine rain hitting a fire, doesn't add or take away from the experience but i

This was a great smoke. Nice smooth pepper tastes with hints of spice that's not over powering. The draw was very smooth and not too tight and the ash was solid and held well together. I had this in the sun in my back yard in New Zealand with a great glass of red. A fantastic smoke and would recommend to anyone.

Alec Bradley Black Market Toro Cigar - 1 Single (Discontinued)
Date Added: Saturday 26 October, 2013
Alec Bradley black market. Lovely looking cigar, deep chestnut brown wrapper with a nice feel and glossy appearance. Cut and lit with the greatest of ease instantly producing a thick, creamy white smoke with a sweet, "warm" smell to it, think of the smell of cooking waffles combined with a pot of coffee, take away some of the sweetness and you're kind of there. Very easy draw even though what is a relatively small cut in my case. Nice even burn and a good white ash although it hasn't hung on to the ash perhaps as well as others I've smoked. Flavour wise, the first third has something mocha-y about it, but not quite as sweet, so say if it were a mocha made with dark chocolate, you'd be more in the right ball park. A very cool smoke too, I am able to hold it in my mouth for quite some time and it doesn't become unpleasant tasting or uncomfortable to do, interestingly the longer you hold on to the smoke the more the flavour becomes earthy and leathery, quite a complex but well balanced and complimentary set of flavours going on here. The occasional bit of smoke escaping from t

Inka Secret Blend Red Half Corona Cigar - Pack of 4
Date Added: Wednesday 23 October, 2013
I bought these because I wanted to try something different to my usual Cuban & Nicaraguan cigars. They had fair to good reviews as well, so on the order they went. I wasn't expecting too much in the way of taste or quality, probably based on price I suppose. Well, was I wrong on both accounts! It was a little veiny near the foot which gave it an uneven burn to start with but soon evened out & developed a tight fine ash which refused to fall off until past 2 inches! Nice strong spice notes throughout the cigar which linger on the pallet after you've finished. These would be great with a strong coffee & 20-30 mins to spare. Definatly buying again, at this price you can't go wrong!
