Arturo Fuente Don Carlos No. 3 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 29 January, 2016
This was my first Arturo Fuente cigar and I must say it was fantastic! The draw is a bit tight but nothing unexpected. The construction was solid and ash held for about an inch and a half. The burn was also consistent through about 2/3 of the cigar with a bit of relighting needed. The cigar lasted me about 1 hour and 20 minutes. In terms of flavor I found the smoke very smooth and creamy with hints of chocolate, vanilla and of roasted Barley. Towards the last 1/3 the taste developed into something much more rich and deep. As a novice myself I was surprised by the overall strength but was not overwhelmed as it came gradually and consistently. Would recommend to anyone looking to develop their palate. 5/5 Because I enjoyed the experience and quality.

Regius Robusto Cigar - Box of 25

Full to medium body without too huge a nicotine hit, but I'd still suggest it as an evening smoke or when out walking the dogs. Probably a good 45 minutes or more smoke. Nice flavour with a hint of marzipan plus some floral undertones, not too peppery. Find it goes well with a hoppy ale such as Brewdog Punk IPA. Draw is only slightly tight but a good bit of smoke results; you do though need to work with the cigar else it will go out. I found two light puffs per draw. Character does not change much through the session, it's pleasant without any new surprises. Ash is a dark grey and holds reasonably well, there is a good even burn throughout. Construction of the cigar is firm with the wrapper being slightly dark in colour and smooth with light veining. These have been sitting in the humidor for a good six months, this has mellowed the initial ammonia hint that I was getting. For their size and strength, I think they are very good value. Not my go to Nicaragua cigar, I'm a fan of Drew Estate, but value for money I think they are hard to beat.

Don't hesitate to try this one. Sweet, sophisticated with enough power to keep the old guard happy. Beautifully made, a stunner in all respects. Wine analogy would be a great Sauternes! Heartily recommended.

Oliva Orchant Seleccion Shorty Cigar - 1 Single

very nice construction with a nice and even burn all the way down. flavours are a little one dimensional for the first 2 thirds with just damp hay and earthy tones, but in the the final third you get toffee and brown sugar with a hint of nuts and then it comes alive. maybe a little over priced but i still would recomend it as it just wasnt quite right for my palate.

Independencia 1898 Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single

Nice quality, even burn and thick smoke. Starts with a bang of strong spice, but still pretty smooth with a pleasing woody aroma and the light menthol tone that I adore in a good cigar. I do prefer cigars that are less peppery on the palate however, but if you like that you will love these.

Romeo y Julieta Mini Cigarillos - Pack of 10

I've purchase this as a quick smoke. Reviews were fairly good but I was however disappointed. Burn is not even and taste and aroma not consistent. Quite harsh. Not the quality I was expecting from RyJ, even for a cigarillo. Soft and mushy at the ends. The construction is poor. Too many air pockets and one of them had a big chunk of wood inside that left a hole in it. I had smokes from gas station better than these. And we all know how crappy those are.
