Oliva Serie O Double Toro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 11 December, 2017
It was late and it had been a long drive down to the Pyrenees to our lodge deep in the mountains. After getting the fire going, our ever faithful Esse wood burner and cooker combined ( the make was used by Shackleton on his Arctic expedition) checking the gas and generator for our lighting we wandered down the mountain through the pines to the village of Prades to eat. Unlike the U.K. the French are civilized and one can eat superb food and then retire to the bar, have a drink and smoke. A polite enquiry to other guest if they objected to by smoking a cigar, which drew gentle chuckles, I lit the Olivia. This is a true cigar, a fine cigar. The band is old school, elegant in its simplicity. It states " I am style, I have heritage". My French friend dining with us on seeing the Olivia said " mon dieu" and gently shook his hand. His wife watched and took in the smoke as it drifted across the bar, it had a woody, mocha scent, with a touch of paprika, the taste blending well with the neat Pastise 51 on ice. We were after all in southern France, it wouldn't do to drink Ricard! As th

Partagas Serie P No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 11 December, 2017
Whilst everyone seems to be busy talking about the Series D No.2, this, for me, was the standout cigar for me during a recent trip to Havana. Fabulous construction, even burn and flawless draw comprising mouthfuls of Partagas' earthy, peppery flavours. A must smoke.

Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill Cigar - 1 Single

One of my favourite cigars, simply put. Peppery yet smooth, simple yet complex; this cigar oozes class from start to finish, and Churchill would have been proud to have his name on it.

What can be said that hasn't already been said about this cigar? A truly bold smoke that is flawlessly constructed, making it a bonafide classic in my opinion.

Por Larranaga Picadores Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 11 December, 2017
This is such an underrated cigar in my opinion, at at least I don't believe it gets the praise it deserves. A great way to spend 45 minutes to an hour, simply put. Expect a medium strength smoke, with a consistent, non offensive experience from start to finish. Yes, the flavours are a little one dimensional with no real development, but the chocolate, earth and slightly peppery tones are a delight to behold. I brought 15 of these back with me from Havana and think they'll only get better with age. Yes, you can probably get a bigger smoke for your money, but give one a try and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised
