Romeo y Julieta Petit Coronas Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 27 September, 2018
My first Romeo Y Julieta cigar so I was excited knowing the history of this famous Havana cigar. It is 23 degrees and a gorgeous blue sky day so I am sat outside on my patio. The first half of this cigar was very pleasant and a joy on my palate. The second half’s texture became soft and I had to relight the cigar twice. Given the choice the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas and H Upmann Majrstic offer better value and better quality of burn.

Fantastic value, especially here in Ibiza where I found them at €2.70 each. Construction, draw and burn all very impressive at this price point. Great flavour for a small stick.

Great medium cigar with plenty to taste. Burnt extremely evenly and never went out. Maybe not an after dinner smoke as its not spicy but more of a lunchtime smoke sitting on a veranda with a glass of good shiraz.

Quite a good quick smoke. Bit of an uneven burn but nothing to quibble about for a fiver. Not strong but plenty of taste.

I have now completed the full range of RYJ. Good medium cigar, quite smooth, very mild tang and not too peppery to the nose on the retro - hale. Good cigar for someone getting into the RYJ range if you dont want to spend too much. If youre not bothered, go get a Churchill!

Ramon Allones Specially Selected Cigar - 1 Single

My my, what a Cuban. This is a strong cigar. It’s deceiving to begin with, starts off very mild in the first 3rd but then in the second seriously kicks it up a gear! I’m no connoisseur but I’ve sampled a fair amount of Cubans in the corona vitola but this was my first Cuban robusto, and the size definitely delivers a smoother, more flavoursome smoke. A rich, peppery cigar with hints of ginger, coffee and nuts. Flawless burn and excellent construction. Not a midday smoke, is all I’d say. Enjoy it after a meal, as I did.
