Quorum Maduro Churchill Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 09 May, 2018
I found this a fairly unremarkable smoke, it is by no means a bad cigar but for the price you can do better. fairy mild but it gets better in the last third. I found it was much better as a straight cut rather than a punch as the draw is fairly tight. It is not one I would by again, however if someone offered me one I would smoke it quite happily. Probably a good first time maduro.

I'm not going to go on about tastes and smells. I will say that it was an enjoyable smoke, great with a porter. Lit well and burnt evenly. Got a good 35/40 minutes out of it before the taste became a bit bitter. Held together well, with a good mouth feel. I am sure there are better on the market but I've paid a lot more for big names, and this little beauty holds its own. Great value for money!

Lovely cigar! Typical Nicaraguan flavour but very rich and complex. Lots of sweet wood and leather but also good nutty and spicy overtones. Burn was a tad hit and miss and the ash a little flaky. The aroma was very sweet and peaty and the construction quite good. Great quality and certainly buying again.

Currently on a train ride testing as many different good value cigars as i can. Tonight (15/11/17) i enjoyed said Quorum. The cigar appeared well made. Lovely earthy smells. Dry draw hinted at some lovely sweetness that reminded me of Romeo Y Julieta. All most like a honey taste. However soon turned bitter? The cutting was easy and the burn was even and the ash held well. The taste overall for me was dominated by a peppery spice. My tongue is particularly sensitive (due to outside factors) to anything hot and spicey pepper included so the taste was dominated as such. However not unpleasant and the bitter taste on the draw dry was never to be seen. Smoke lasted around 50 minutes. Overall very nice, it has set a benchmark for the next cigars to come. Well worth a try especially at this price point. Onto a Juliany robusto next to compare. Though i will revisit these as with all i taste test as one go really isnt enough to form a decisive opinion. 3 out of 5 for me, nicely made easy to smoke but for me personally taste was dominated by hot spices and pepper. That may change in t

Quintero Panetela Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 20 October, 2017
This came in a selection of cigars from around the world some months back so has been sleeping in my humidor. I prefer a smoke of around an hour thus favour cigars around the Montecristo size but with the winter months approaching they tend to be a little too long with the last minutes being spent thinking “I’m getting cold now”. I’ve tried smaller, a Maduro but for me it was too small and reminded me of why I gave up smoking cigarettes, well one reason anyway. I found this Quintero to be ideal. It’s substantial enough in size, both length and gauge to sit in between the two. Not dissimilar in taste to a Montecristo in my view, medium strength. Clipped well and the ash formed a good solid inch before dropping. Even burn and relaxed draw. I spun this out for a good forty five minutes in the garage with a beer whilst admiring the motorbikes. This could have been shortened to thirty minutes if you so desired. Overall rating is very pleasant and one I’d be happy to stock in my humidor.
