Plasencia Alma Del Campo Tribu Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 10 April, 2022
Cold draw had a slight hint of aniseed and hay. Very slight toothiness to the wrapper and a very slight hint of crystallisation after 6 months in the humidor. First half dominated by a strong but pleasant dry earthiness and a woody overtone, very little if no spiciness - perhaps a slight hint of cumin but nothing obvious. Second half the earthiness developed into a creamy coffee and a very faint herbal note. A luxurious feel to the smoke and with a very pleasant combination of flavours. The draw was impeccable throughout, although the burn was at times uneven it certainly wasnt the worst Ive seen and was quite manageable. Would highly recommend.

Peterson Old Dublin (Formerly Citrus & Spice) Pipe Tobacco 50g (Tin)

Quite possibly my favourite tobacco, not too strong with a nice burn and lovely taste. Peterson usually makes for a quality smoke, but having tried a few of their products, I think Old Dublin is the best.

Punch Coronations Tubed Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 22 March, 2022
Sitting in the garden on a sunny Match afternoon with a coffee and this lovely little Cuban, I’m not big on ageing cigars normally 3-5 years max but for some reason this 2009 box of Punch Coronation’s have been left unsmoked! Lovely mild flavours, white pepper and cinnamon still had a transition in last third. I’ve got some younger Punch Punch might try them side by side

Plasencia Reserva Original Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 20 March, 2022
With a slight oily wrapper and delicious vanilla hit on the cold draw, this cigar had promises of luxurious and complex flavours. I found this not to be the case, with the first third being overwhelmed by strong black pepper and leather, and the whole cigar having a generic woodiness that only really developed into a slight cedar note towards the very end. I had two very brief hints of coffee in the final third and I couldnt detect any of the sweetness or vanilla hints I got on the cold draw at all. What it did have in abundance was a consistent smooth smoke that was quite luxurious and the construction and burn was impeccable only requiring a one touch up to realign where the band had been (I have a theory that these huge bands are causing distortion due to imperfect humidification). Overall I wasnt disappointed by this cigar, I suppose I was just expecting a bit more in the way of flavour complexity and this was a bit two dimensional. If you enjoy a very strong wood flavour in your smoke you should give this one a try, it might be what you are looking for.

Perla Del Mar Corojo - Corona Gordo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 25 February, 2022
Very impressed by what I experienced and love the box-pressed shape.. This cigar had a great draw and burnt pretty evenly. In the first 3rd I got some of the classic tobacco notes mostly, along with some hay and pepper in the background, which took me into the middle 3rd where the pepper notes became slightly stronger (but not overpowering), and followed by some earth. In the final 3rd the middle 3rds notes carried along but I also seemed to pick up some raisin notes which was pretty pleasant. For the price you cant really go wrong with these!
