Oliva Serie V Melanio Gran Reserva No. 4 Petit Corona Cigar - Box of 10
Date Added: Friday 06 May, 2016
I am sad that the last reviewer had a bad one, I have smoked 3 of these and I will be getting more, as the one thing that DO have is bags of flavour .also a good burn, lots of smoke that tastes so good I don't want to blow it away. I you love a full flavoured Cuban , as I do, its nice to mix up the humidor a bit with some good new world sticks as well, so I say go on treat yourself.....

I'd had one of these in my humidor for about 6 months and decided to try it a few days ago. What a disappointment! Previous encounters with Oliva cigars had always been favourable but not this time. It burnt well and construction was good but they're the only things that this cigar had in it's favour. The first third was very harsh and left an unpleasant aftertaste and the rest was very bland. At times it seemed as if I were just inhaling steam. If you are considering spending your hard - earned cash on a petit corona give this one a miss. There are plenty of Cubans around costing less.

very nice construction with a nice and even burn all the way down. flavours are a little one dimensional for the first 2 thirds with just damp hay and earthy tones, but in the the final third you get toffee and brown sugar with a hint of nuts and then it comes alive. maybe a little over priced but i still would recomend it as it just wasnt quite right for my palate.

Expect about 40 mins from a this, quite a fast burner. Light bodied with subtle chocolate and coffee. Very smooth, no spice or pepper. Base notes of that Nicaraguan nutty flavour with a leather finish. I enioyed this Oliva, clean tasting and no bitterness. A little light for my tastes and did burn quite quick for its size. Good lunch time smoke.

I've just recently got into smoking cigars and have been trying different brands to see what I like, wow this cigar is amazing. Firstly the construction was impeccable. Beautiful dark chocolate oily wrapper with a stunning band wrapped around it, I took a good few mins admiring it's beauty and it's aroma. The light and first draw was a delight with a pleasent coco coffee hit and lots of lovely smelling smoke. First 1/3 was gorgeously smooth with some hints of nuts and dark coca beans. 2/3 I got my first big nicotine hit and the smoke got even smoother, the nutty taste has submerged and I was greeted with a more ntense coco coffee leathery taste. 3/3 wow this cigar packs a punch, much the same as the 2/3 but much stronger, I smoked this until I couldn't hold it anymore and boy did this cigar knock me for six, beng still a novice to cigar smoking and haven't not eaten, I felt what I can only describe as cigar drunk. I will definitely eat before smoking one of these again and maybe less coffee. Overall a beautiful cigar in taste, construction and smoke, can't recomme
