Montecristo Especial Cigar - 1 Single

The mid-late 2018 boxes have been particularly amazing and well-constructed. They tend to draw far more easily and consistently than in the past these days. Sometimes a little firm on the draw, as is kind of how they should be really, but still producing plenty of smoke and the flavours are all there. Rich, complex and showing great legs for aging. Predominantly woodsy, creamy coffee, baking chocolate, gingerbread and hints of cinnamon and citrus. They start mellow and subtle and slowly develop through the length of the cigar to the darker flavours. Still some power in the final third but smoked to the nub before getting at all hot. Magnificent cigars, often overlooked along with the also excellent Especial No.2.

Good draws on all of these so far, thank goodness. And the flavours are out of this world! Rich yet delicate, creamy with a touch of pepper and exotic spice. Layers of woods, fresh ground coffee beans, cream and cocoa with hints of citrus, nutmeg and cinnamon. A slow and subtle progression of strength into the final third where I was surprised further with a little sweet but dark leather and a touch of shortbread and clove. These still have plenty of strength and richness in the back half to indicate they will only get better and better with more age too. All are smoking to my fingertips before getting hot. Milk chocolate wrappers and gorgeous format. Heavenly box aroma. Pure class and highly underrated cigars. Box code: REG JUL 18

Prices forgive everything, but I write some tips as I hope others get used to it sooner. Be careful of irregular burning. In particular, only the inside often burns, so it is recommended to burn the border of foot carefully. It tastes sweet but rather than chocolate, more likes baked bananas, chestnuts, and sweet potatoes. Personally, I recommend you to enjoy it in contrast to whiskey that tastes like fruit that is not sour. Dont burn it for a long time, it will taste bad very quickly. Dont drill holes, they get damp easily.

Ordered 3. one of them had a substantial hole in the wrapper and was extremely dry.
IÂ’ve left that one in the humidor to see if that will help it. Fingers crossed it will.
Im not an expert on cigars by any stretch but these are a very nice, cheap cigar.
If the problem with the dry and holey wrapper issue is sorted IÂ’ll keep on coming back to these, but a lot of reviews mention poor wrappers and dryness.
We shall see.

Cant fault these at all a fantastic cigar and the price is unbelievable
