J. Cortes High Class Honduran Cigar - Orange - Box of 10
Date Added: Wednesday 15 March, 2017
These were the first cigars I have bought for the home and to smoke with friends, now I'm new to the cigar smoking world so only wanted a decently cheap box of ten, so don't get me wrong you cant really argue with the price but you know what they say, you get what you pay for, these are not the worst smoke you can have I would say but they are far from the best, I find that after the half way point they just don't really stay enjoyable, they don't taste that nice nor do they even smell nice, I would recommend these to someone buying on a budget like I was but not to an experienced cigar smoker. However an upside of these cigars is that they have a nice even burn and last around 20-40 minutes depending on how fast you smoke. overall good price but not that good of taste

Juliany Maduro Corona Cigar - 1 Single

A very mild to medium body cigar., Draw was very light, beautiful sheen on the wrapper minimal veins and superbly constructed if not however a little soft and under filled, burn was lovely and even. Moist wood/forest earth aroma to the prelight wrapper with hints of cocoa , creamed expresso body with a nutty, earthy finish during the duration of the smoke. Smoke frequently as the burn can tend to fade quickly, light draws keeps the cigar ticking over nicely without having to really stoke it up to obtain a flavourable aroma. A good 40/50 minutes smoke Brewed coffee makes a perfect combination!

Well I'm new to Cigar smoking and thoroughly enjoying finding my pallette while my go to Cigar is the coronation punch Corona I wanted a box of relatively cheap cigars for the home. These are nothing to write home about the first half is boring and flavourless the second is a bit better with it finishing bitter. The machine made fill gets quite soft as and if Like me you prefer a to cut the cap then towards the end you will be picking tobacco leaves out of your teeth. Really wish I had listened to other reviewers and ordered the blue box.

Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 15 December, 2016
Last week I sampled the new Juan Lopez Superba RE16. Today I wanted to make a nice review of the regular production Juan Lopez No 2. Juan Lopez No 2 is in my opinion one of the best Constructed Havanas. It has a lovely wrapper. (I Love them when they come with a dark wrapper) The construction in flavour is amazing. The first part of this robusto 124mm x 50 is extremely woody (The regional edition one smells like nuts, this one smells sweet and woody) the first flavours are extremely lovely wood, and very sweet brown sugar notes. The second part is very mellow on my palate, I can recognise a few small notes of almonds. The third part is getting much more full bodied. Flavours are becoming very rich in sweet notes, some smooth white pepper notes, a bit spicy on my palate but just a little. The draw is lovely. I cannot find any problems in this cigar. Wonderful smoke. I would like to recommend trying this cigar with our two Stalla Dhu whiskies, if you like to combine flavours. For the first sweet part of the cigar, try our Stalla Dhu Islay; you can combine the sweetnes

Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1 Cigar - 1 Single

First JL ever. Not too shabby to look at but not a thing of wonder. The flavours started straight away with the usual cubanesc wood and spice. I want to say I picked on up on some milk chocolate but that would be a smidge fanciful but there was something in th way of pleasant confectionery somewhere towards the end of the first third. So, woody, spicy, choclatey (maybe) but then definite wood and some, not entirely unpleasant, bitterness. This cigar is far from one dimensional! It is definitely not the best at anything but it does have something that soooo many cigars don't achieve; it takes you through a flavour journey that twists and turns, it keeps you thinking. For this alone, I think I'm a fan. I would recommend and buy again. An ageing box would be an interesting project.

Jose L Piedra Petit Cetros Cigar - 1 Single

If you're lucky enough to get one of these without quality issues, then for under a fiver you will get the taste of a Montecristo No.4 at less than half the price. True, they are not as pleasing on the eye, but you get a real taste of Cuba on a budget. I've sampled about a dozen so far, however when I got a 5 pack I had to throw 4 out of 5 away due to terrible construction and a draw that was plugged so badly I went blue in the face! It almpst feels like a game of Russian roulette when you get to the checkout. Good luck.
