Jose L Piedra Petit Cetros Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 27 October, 2018
Been meaning to write a review on these for some time. I’ve tried a fair few of these, 30+ and have just bought a box of 25 so I feel confident reviewing them. At £4.60 a stick, if bought by the box, they’re the same price as a J. Cortés High Class Sumatran, which is an awful cigar. For what they are, a Cuban for a fiver, they’re fantastic. On occasion the draw can be tough but this usually loosens up to deliver a a pleasant, mild flavour. They’re nutty, creamy and smooth. They can get a little spicy towards the end but for the most part they’re a mild-medium bodied smoke. I’ve had more expensive Cubans that have behaved worse than these. I rarely find construction issues with them. Try one, they’re great!

Joya de Nicaragua 50th Anniversary Cinco Decadas Diadema Cigar - 1 Single

An absolute belter! What a smoke, had a good 2 hours steady smoking time. Beautiful oily wrapper, excellent construction, draw easy enough, nice even burn all the way down with a good solid ash. Huge flavour, deep and powerful first half then turning more mellow and creamy in the second half. Youd pay much more for a Cuban of a similar ilk.....its totally worth it.

Joya de Nicaragua Clasico Torpedo Cigar - 1 Single

As I stated elsewhere for this cigar but in a different vitola, this is a well rounded, pleasant and sufficiently complex stick. In this reiteration it might be this smokers favourite as it impresses with its construction and a lengthy smoking time allows for this mellow blend to sooth and relax you whilst providing a rewarding, flavoursome experience. After a dozen plus smoked in various situations it is yet to disappoint- it draws and burns nicely and develops in some subtle yet never overwhelming ways. Perfect for a lazy evening or lunch when you have time to spare.

If you were to judge these on appearance alone you would be forgiven for thinking budget smoke with little to offer. The wrapper is rough and rugged, the 5 pack that I ordered was full of wrapper imperfections but the cigar felt like it had a substantial and even packing. The dry draw was surprisingly loose, maybe even too loose; The handful of Cubans Ive tried thus far have had quite snug draws so I had to exercise a bit of self control while puffing away on this stick. Flavours were a balanced mixture of grass, earth and wood with the smoke leaving a slightly oily finish in my mouth. A hint of spice slowly built up from around the half way point, but just like all the other flavours remained mild and light. Considering the low price relative to other Cubans of a similar vitola, its very difficult to find anything to criticise. This cigar is very similar to the Monte no. 4 and while the flavours are not as full bodied or rich, it is significantly cheaper, almost £100 saved when comparing a bundle of 25 to a box of Montes.

J. Cortes High Class Dominican Cigar - White - 1 Single

Have tried the whole range of the J.Cortez range but this cigar is not wrapped at all tight.Having rat toothed the cigar it was very soft and did not hold its shape.I am a wet smoker so that made it worse.it did not burn evenly and needed to be relit. It was very mild and was no comparison to the Honduran range.Yes they are cheap but La Invicta for price are better.
