The Hamlet Miniatures are exactly what you’d expect, a quick, no fuss smoke that lasts about 4 minutes. They’re nice enough for their size and offer reasonable value for money. Personally, I prefer the Signature Yellows as I think they’ve got a nicer flavour, but these are still a solid little option when you just want something quick. Handy to keep around, and I’d definitely buy them again for those short smoke breaks.

This was a beautiful cigar. Very light on the palate at first, with an increasing dark chocolate taste as it went on. It usually takes me 50 to 60 minutes to smoke a Robusto. It took me 45 minutes to smoke this one down to the nub, testament to how much I enjoyed it! I bought a pack of three and I am very much looking forward to smoking the other two.

Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

I recently smoked a Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto, and I have to say it really surprised me. Even though it’s a smaller cigar, it feels like a complete experience from start to finish. From the first light, I got this smooth creaminess with a little cedar in the background, very easygoing and classic Cuban in style.
As it burned, the flavours stayed light but interesting some floral notes, a touch of nuttiness, and just a little spice here and there. Nothing ever got too strong or harsh, which made it a very relaxing smoke. The draw was spot on and the burn stayed even the whole way through, no touch-ups needed.
What I like most is how versatile it is. With it being a mild cigar, I could see enjoying it with a morning coffee just as easily as after dinner. It’s not the longest smoke, but it doesn’t feel rushed either.
Overall, the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto is one of those cigars that proves size doesn’t always matter it’s smooth, classy, and consistently enjoyable. I’d definitely reach for it again when I want something refined but not heavy.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Major Coronas might be my favorite Cuban so far. It’s often described as light in strength but rich in flavor, and I found that to be spot on. From the first puff, I was met with a creamy smoothness, with flavors of cedar, honey, and a touch of floral sweetness. It felt elegant and approachable, never overpowering but always interesting. The construction was excellent—an even burn, perfect draw, and plenty of smoke. Midway, the flavors opened up more, with hints of nuts and a subtle citrus note that added freshness. The aroma was beautiful too—sweet, woody, and inviting. I really enjoyed how this cigar managed to stay light yet complex; it never felt flat or boring, and it was easy to smoke slowly and savor. By the final third, it developed a little more spice and depth, rounding off the experience nicely. For me, this is the kind of cigar that feels timeless—refined, smooth, and always enjoyable. It’s the one I’d recommend to any beginner who wants to experience Cuban quality without being overwhelmed.

The H. Upmann Major Coronas felt like a really classic Cuban experience for me. Right from the start, there was that signature smoothness—cedar, light spice, and a creamy texture that made it very approachable. The draw was just right, offering a steady flow of aromatic smoke. Flavor-wise, it had a nice balance of wood, earth, and a touch of nuttiness. About halfway through, I noticed a floral note along with some sweetness that kept things interesting. The burn line wasn’t perfect, but it corrected itself without much effort. What stood out most was how refined it felt—everything was in harmony, with no harshness or bitterness. Compared to some of the stronger Nicaraguan smokes I’ve tried, this felt more subtle and elegant, though still full of character. By the final third, the flavors deepened, with more earth and spice, but it never lost its smoothness. This cigar gave me a real sense of Cuban tradition and why brands like H. Upmann are so respected. I’d definitely keep a few of these on hand for when I want something classic and dependable.
