Henri Wintermans Half Corona - Pack of 5 cigars
Date Added: Saturday 23 July, 2016
These little half coronas generally get a bad rep - I decided to ignore that and give them a chance. Now, my hypothesis regarding their reputation is based upon the price-point being somewhat tailored toward the beginner. Generally, they'll be picked up on a whim as a first foray into cigars; the problem begins! These overheat VERY easily. If you don't respect that, the bitterness is staggering and very off putting. One has to realise that to enjoy these, you must give it time. I have no problems relaxing for a good 35 minutes with one! Take it slow and without the over-heating problems, they're a very tasty little smoke. Woody, earthy and as has already been mentioned, a nice slight sweetness. If you're looking for complexity, this isn't it. However, for good construction, great burn and a comfortable draw, all combined with a lovely smooth taste and pleasant oily texture - go for it! Less than £2 a stick.. come on. Get your self a pack (or two) and enjoy a guilt free, cheapo smoke with a few buddies. 5/5 can't fault them for the price.

this was my first cigar i have ever smoked. at first it was a little full bodies for me but after a few more draws i notice it was given me show much pleasure. the taste, the aromas and complete relaxed feeling. i was starting to really enjoy it. it lasted a awful a lot of time for me (30 mins) and so had to stop and save it for later. even the next day it was a nice smoke but not as good as the firs time. highly recommended (smoking time 20-30 mins).

I am a beginner cigar smoker and my first cigar was H. Uppman (U.H) Cuban cigar which was very pleasant and enjoyable cigar......highly recommended for a beginner smoker. However, when you compare the HW Half coronas with H.U Cigars they are really are not nice. I found it was very harsh on the back of the throat and had to clear my throat a few times the next day. There are not bad but i would suggest for the similar style cigars try the cuban like the Montecristo and Romeo Y Juliet it would be much better tasting but will set you back in similar price.

I have previously reviewed this cigar but felt compelled to write another review. I smoked another one of these beauties today in the park that I had been saving. It was once again absolutely fantastic. It was a lovely mild, nutty, coffee tasting smoke. It burnt slowly and evenly and produced some lovely smoke and great looking ash. These cigars really are exceptional and for such a small cigar it lasts ages and is super smooth. A fantastic cigar and great value for money. I will be buying some more very soon.

Its difficult to come up with any more superlatives for this cigar than have already been used. So, so satisfying... The aroma is sensational. Sweet honeyed woodsmoke that should be used as incense in heaven. The taste builds slowly from ordinary to sublime. Never over-strong it has savoury flavours in the finish that defy description. A truly amazing smoke

Reviewed by Pat Hamilton (December 2000) Fast. The one word that best describes the time between my acceptance in the Taste Test and the package's arrival. If I didn't know better I'd swear my friends sent the package first and notified me later. Impressive enough but more so since this took place during the Christmas rush. The cigars themselves were in great shape. The Upmann No. 2's featured a golden reddish-brown wrapper much like those from the H-2000 wrapper. Very few veins were evident except for one of medium size on one cigar. Not a large, ugly, "varicose" if you will, this noticeable vein actually added to the overall beauty of the cigar. In fact, if this one cigar was taken from a separate box as the other two, then that's the box I'd want in my humidor. Construction on all three was great, the caps on a Pyramid from Cuba are exceptional. Only Havana's finest rollers could produce this vitola. The initial aroma out of the package was deep....rich and earthy. I had the feeling they were going to be awesome smokes. But first I laid them to rest for several weeks. Onc
