Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas Cabinet Selection Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 13 August, 2020
Big boy Doubles like this need time and respect. A stogie to smoke when you got a lovely summer day is perfect. After a few very nasty hot humid days in the Uk we were gifted with a warm but slightly cooler day. The day had a nice cool breeze, warm but cooler and comfortable. I sat in my back garden and lit this bad boy up. The cigar started light with a slightly creamy, oaky taste. Second third it came into its own; more cream, caramel and a slight sweetness that I would describe as a hint of strawberry. One hour in and I realised the cigar had more kick than I thought slightly overdosing on nicotine I needed to slow down some. I took it easier and spread it out with more gaps between draws and walked up and down some. I debated aspects of life, thought bout things in a relaxed pleasant way, solutions to problems work. The final third was a surprise. Most cigars gain intensity at this point but the intensity was not overwhelming. I donÂ’t usually usually enjoy the final third of many cigars but in this case it may have been the most enjoyable part of the cigar the contrast of the

Bloody hell this was vile, tasted like metal. Had these before and are lovely but this last one was sour and metalic. Had to throw it away

Fantastic cigar! This is by far one of my favourite smokes to date, it had an easy draw, delicious flavoures thoughout and was light a sweet. I would highly recommend it, especially, to anyone just starting out.

I liked these. Nice shape for light and cool smoke. Nothing to write home about but no complaints either, maybe a tad bland. But for the price...

New to the cigar world and am currently sampling a number of Cubans. This is by far the best cigar I’ve had so far into my journey, and the only one where I could actually taste the profile of the stick. A mild smoke that lasted 55 mins which is perfect for after dinner sat in the garden. To my untrained palate it tasted like chocolate from the off, and it was extremely smooth. Paired really well with a glass of Bumbu. Burned an absolute treat and I took it to within 3/4s of an inch of its life. 100% box-worthy.

Still very new to cigars, however this is definitely the worst cigar I’ve smoked so far. The first third was very very acrid and bitter, not enjoyable at all. I persevered into the second third which became slightly better. Creamy with coffee notes, however the draw was almost too easy and when I looked into the end there was a large hole through the middle of the cigar (which explains the strange draw). The final third the bitterness returned and I had to put it out. I did not enjoy this cigar at all, but after reading other reviews I think I may have just had a poor stick, but based on this experience there is far better for the money
