Drew Estate Undercrown SG Flying Pig Cigar - 1 Single

The one I received had a wonky burn, and had two large stems which I pulled out. Poor. Didn’t get too much flavour either, which was probably due to the above.

It’s hard to review this cigar as a stand-alone smoke, without considering where it sits in the Davidoff Dominican range. It’s obviously a larger format than the primeros at the same price, but I think there is a slight compromise for that. It feels like a more serious cigar but it also felt, dare I say, lacking in the usual Davidoff sophistication. It’s a decent hit of nicotine but it’s not as smooth as the primeros or the entreacto. First third left me hoping something would ‘kick in’, second third gave me a couple of lovely hits of cream and spice, which were disappointingly inconsistent and far too brief and the final third teetered on the edge of being hot. Draw and construction were fine, although mine was a tiny bit on the tight side, which I don’t mind I must say. The aroma is fantastic! Personally, I’d go primeros for the money, or spend a few more pennies to get one of the serious Davidoff’s. If the cream and spice ran throughout, this would be amazing, but then I doubt it would cost only ten pounds of your hard earned. Slightly confusing one this, which tends to result in

Big personality in a 20 minute format. Beautiful to look at, a rich and inviting unlit aroma and top construction. With the cap cut and the foot torched, a heavenly and thick smoke fills the air. The draw is perfect, the taste is sublime. Cream, subtle spice and earth. The perfect morning or afternoon coffee accompaniment. Next up, the Nicaragua short Corona!

Davidoff Winston Churchill Raconteur Petit Panatela Cigar - 1 Single

Perfect for people getting into cigars or those who enjoy a mellow creamy smoke without sharp, peppery flavours. A must have at this price. Ive always been a fan of the Davidoff make and this cigar upholds their name. A light to medium body cigar with consistent flavour and smoke production which lasted me a solid 30 mins and IÂ’m a reasonably fast smoker. Perfect build quality with thick flavourful veins on the wrapper. Very well packed verging on being fully packed; which did worry me before lighting, but the draw was on the money! The burn was perfect from start to finish, with no touch up needed at all. IÂ’m aware that everyoneÂ’s taste is slightly different, but with that being said I will try my best to describe this wonderful cigar. Flavours were consistently smooth and creamy with great smoke production. A light creamy latte coffee would be my best comparison for this cigar. Light tobacco taste with hints of butterscotch towards the 2nd 3rd which kept me coming back for more. Not peppery in the slightest and I would recommend this cigar to anyone who likes cream

Davidoff Primeros Nicaragua Cigar - Tin of 6

Superb smoke. I am a slow smoker so lasted me about 30 mins in the late afternoon sun with a cup of good coffee. Smooth, mellow, creamy but flavoursome. Incidentally, this was also the first cigar on which I tried my new Perfect Draw tool (see separate review). Draw was fine at the outset but just for the sheer hell of playing with a new toy I gave it a go. It improved an already good draw no end with lots of smoke.
