Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 09 August, 2010
I enjoyed this cigar very much. I am very new to cigars but after trying some smaller cigarillos first I found this to be far superiour and quite mild which I enjoyed. It lasted a good amount of time for me as I don't often have alot of free time to enjoy but it wasn't over too quickly. I'd certainly recommend it for the price. What to try next is my only problem!

Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar - 1 Single

This cigar wasn't quite my cup of tea - but that's just personal preference. I found it to be grassy at the start, then it developed some liquorice flavours through the mid-section, before finishing with a slightly disappointing earthiness. Unfortunately, liquorice doesn't rank amongst those flavours which I like, but I suppose plenty do. The construction was excellent - clean and even burn, plenty of smoke and a solid ash. For the price, if you like the flavour profile, you really can't go wrong.

Cohiba Behike BHK 52 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 20 July, 2010
A cigar that every aficionado, and at least everyone who enjoys cigars should try and judge for themselves. Okay, the presentation is perfection in a cigar, setting the bar for construction and size. The draw was easy and the aroma spicy and tobacco-listic (if that is a word!)! Initially there was a hint of nuttiness and light peppers, and exceptionally smooth. It tasted, for me, surprisingly light in strength and medium in body, having the same blandness as a Robusto T with hardly any bitterness, with smoke enough to satisfy your average cigar smoke lover, not too much to overwhelm a room. The middle portion brought out a roasted, toasty caramel flavour, hints of cedar, and peppers increasing slightly, while maintaining that super smooth kick. However towards the final 1/3 the flavours did intensify becoming more medium to full bodied (for me at least!), bringing out hints of fruitiness, nutty almonds, sweetness, and a thicker smoke. Yet the stick did leave my mouth rather dry and salty. As for the ash, it did start off smooth with some flakiness, but toward the middle and

Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios Cigar - Box of 10
Date Added: Monday 19 July, 2010
The Cohiba Maduro 5 is the cigar that re-introduced back to Cohiba. Too many Cohibas for me are sharp and dry in taste and perhaps not up to the standard they should be. My first Maduro 5 experience was in the smaller size and was a cracking smoke... Normally I prefer a larger ring guage and so purchased a box of the Genios. They did not let me down as they had all the qualities I enjoyed in the smaller size. They have a lovely subtle sweetness to them accompanied by a very moreish saline (salty) taste to them. Its a very smooth smoke but one none the less that should be enjoyed late evening rather then a 'day' cigar. These are on the strong side of medium in flavour. A very worthwhile place to start if you are unfamiliar with the dark maduro wrappers. Enjoy!

Not to my taste; I much prefer a Chinchalero Chico.

Chinchalero Perla Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 30 June, 2010
At the old price, this was a steal. At the new price, it is still a great value cigar. There is some variation in quality from cigar to cigar, but at this price I guess you have to expect it. I have tried lots of different cigars in the 4 -10 pounds range from this site and I keep coming back to this cheaper version for all round enjoyment and value. This cigar is well wrapped, clean and tasty. It is like a good Southern Rhone Valley wine: it is unlikely to make you want to go and wake up the wife to get her to share in the experience like you would with a good claret, but if you want a midweek evening smoke with a glass of scotch, or want something to help you focus at the poker table, this is the cigar for you. It can taste a little green at times and can burn a little hot, but it is two and a half quid. You want excellence, you pay more. You want a good smoke? Then you could do a lot worse than this.
