Chinchalero Novillo Fuerte Maduro - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 23 April, 2015
If you get a good one of these it can be a quite a spectacular experience, bursting with deep and rich flavours, great smoke output and with a strong saltiness that lingers on the tastebuds. Unfortunately experience has taught me that as many as two out of every three tend to burn terribly unevenly and need to be constantly adjusted - and that's no way to have a relaxing smoke. With reluctance, I won't be ordering more.

Cohiba Siglo II Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 21 April, 2015
not a bad cigar, I'm quite fond of the Siglo's and decided to give this one a try. a nice draw, a strong flavour, a bit too strong for a morning cigar, slightly bitter during the first half. the cigar burned uneven most of the way through but that may have been might fault, the length adds more enjoyment to it, especially the final third when all of those rich flavours combine to give you that all important satisfying finish. I will give this a four, I will try one again as the uneven burn may have added to the slight bitterness it had during the first half.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos Cigar - 1 Single

Have had two of these now, both good smokes, at the stronger end of the flavour scale. On the last one with a glass of decent port I didn't want it to finish. But have to say I still might not buy another as after exploring the cigar market a bit more I feel you are paying too much for the brand, and similar quality is available for significantly less. If you're not watching the pennies I'd recommend this fully, if you are I would suggest looking at the similar El Credito exquisitos or Alec Bradly black market punk, or ideally trying all three and deciding on your favourite.

Cohiba Behike BHK 52 Cigar - 1 Single

A nice, easy smoke, burns slow and evenly, I was expecting a little more flavour, but generally a pleasant smoke. Definitely suitable for summer days with a Speyside Scotch.

Cuaba Distinguidos Cigar - 1 Single

Not too impressed with this cigar. The wrapper pretty much fell apart and it took ages to get it going. Very hard to draw. The Divinos is a favourite of mine and I'd much rather have two or three of the small Divinos than bother with this troublesome big brother.

Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar - 1 Single

Smoked three of these now and they've all been a very pleasant, no-fuss experience. The near-perfumey initial taste post-toasting is unusual, almost carrying sugary notes in the smoke, but it soon settles into a pleasant afternoon smoke with more of a caramel taste alongside the deeper leathery notes. Visibly well built, the ash held for well over an inch, while the burn and draw were both good and even (I did have to wrestle with the burn a little towards the end, but that was partly because I was trying to smoke it down to the cap, such was the enjoyment). It's an uncomplicated smoke, but sometimes that's just what you need, and there's something about a 50+ gauge that just feels right in the mouth and the hand. This is an exceptionally cost-effective way to enjoy the sensation.
