An easy sipper for any occasion, reminiscent of the Balvenie Doublewood but with an unexpected character for a 12 year old. Oak spice and plenty of vanilla notes, caramel and buttery chocolate with some spice and cinnamon on the palate. Dry finish with honey and liquorice flavours.

Let me tell you about my current favorite cigar. Its the Bolivar Belicosos Finos - Cabinet. This is a beautiful cigar, that is about 5.5 inches with a 52 ring gauge. The wrapper has a wonderful oily sheen, that highlight the slight toothy-ness of the cigar. To me, this represents the classic cigar. A torpedo shaped delight that emits clouds of wonderful smelling smoke. It reminds me very much of the classic cigar smoking hero in the movies. The cigars construction is perfect, with a cap that clips nicely. The pre-draw is excellent. Firm yet you dont have to force the air through the cigar. I light the cigar, and lean back and relax. The flavors are wonderful. As the cigar burns the oils glisten on the wrapper before they are consumed in the next puff. A friend recently described smoking this cigar as an almost religious experience, and I would have to agree. You wont want this to finish, and you will find yourself smoking it until your fingers cant hold the nub anymore. Borkum Riff Ruby is a Cavendish style blend, made from fermented Burley and Kentucky tobacco. As is the trademark style, the cherry casing is noticeable, but doesn’t totally dominate the taste of the tobacco. There is a pleasant, toasty and sweet taste from the tobacco, which harmonises nicely with the casing. Speaking of which; the cherry taste is pleasantly fresh and they’ve also snuck a hint of vanilla in there, but cherry is very much the focal point of the blend.

We’re moving into Scandinavian territory now with “The Remarkable Dane,” Alsbo Ruby. As you might well know, Scandinavian aromatics are characterised by a slightly more reserved approach to casing than their American brethren. This means the taste is usually more balanced between tobacco and casing. This isn’t to say the tobacco is strong; Alsbo Ruby’s mixture of cured Black Cavendish, Golden Virginias and fine Burley is pronounced without being overwhelming and balances nicely against the unusual black cherry & wild cherry combo of the casing.

6 x 60 nowadays looks like is only possible on your day off but this cigar wont let you down since use a great original Connecticut wrapper cultivated in Connecticut USA. Nowadays most of this wrapper are cultivated in Nicaragua and Honduras.

Sooooo tasty, never tried before buy liked the look of the bottle. Lovely spice to the finish, cant wait to have it again this evening!
