Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920's but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant, light to medium flavoured Habano.

H. Upmann's blend is composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Gold medals in no less than eleven international exhibitions during the 19th Century can be found on the brand's labelled boxes.

Tasting Notes

This cigar is creamy with hints of coffee and some nutty flavours as well. This small havana promises to have a good future. Attractive, good draw, thick smoke with complex flavors for such a small cigar. Simply excellent.

Usually love these sticks but Im afraid the last couple Ive had have been disappointing. The draw is so tight and kept having to relight them.Next time I will pay a little extra for the Majestic.

A bit disappointing but for the price its not the end of the world. Not much flavour and got quite harsh. Shame as the higher end Upmanns are great. Wont be buying again but not the worst thing Ive ever smoked. For an extra £2 or £3 you can get an outstanding new world cigar...just saying.

I’m relatively new to cigars and was recommended to try this one yesterday. Found the flavours to be very nice but I really struggled to get a draw on it at all, had to pull very hard on it to get any smoke. Shame really as the bit of smoke i did get was very nice. Ended up throwing it away after half which is a shame at nearly £10 in the shop
