Description

Aged: 18 Years
ABV: 56.2%
Limited to: 240 hand numbered bottles

This independent bottling of Ben Nevis was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2017, at the natural cask strength of 56.2%.

This limited-edition whisky spent 18 years maturing in a Hogshead cask, with only 240 individually numbered bottles released.

An outstanding West Highland malt, from one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, established back in 1825.

In 1989, Ben Nevis was sold to the Japanese distiller Nikka which had been buying malt and grain from the distillery for several years.

STALLA DHU

A rare collection of small batch and single cask malts from Scotland’s finest distilleries.

First and second generation members of our family of independent bottlers carefully select the whiskies showing particular promise.

We begin by managing the wood and continue by housing the environment and casks that best affect the ageing to achieve the unique results we strive for.

We let the whisky slumber till the time is right and then select the correct ABV to bring a very special wee dram to you.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Raisin sweetness and maple syrup with a slight spiciness.

Palate: Rich and smooth, dried fruit notes with a mellow leathery tone.

Finish: Balanced sweet finish.

Adding a few drops of H2O to this whisky opens up the flavours beautifully.

Incredibly smooth and sweet with a bit of spice, add a bit of water and these flavours will vary a bit
