Description

Pronounced ‘la-froyg’, this distillery is famed for its unashamedly peaty, powerful and uncompromising style, which has made it one of the most iconic names in the world of whisky. 

Laphroaig 25 Year Old has been lovingly created by marrying Laphroaig that has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks with Laphroaig that has been matured in ex-American bourbon barrels; both filled with newly distilled Laphroaig spirit from day one

Bottled at cask strength, it is a perfect fusion of two different styles of maturation flavours, made even smoother by the quarter century it has been gently maturing.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sherried oak flavours.

Palate: Smooth, sweet flavours.

Finish: Long and spicy with hints of cinnamon, coal tar and fruit.

A beautiful fruity whisky but with heavy smoke. Buttery and fruity but i recommend adding a touch of water to bring out the fruit more. Im surprised the smoke has stayed as usually peated whisky loses some smoke flavour.

