bottled at a cask strength of 60.1% and at full barrel proof you can enjoy this Elijah Craig much as the distillers do when they sample straight from the barrel in their Kentucky warehouse.
Elijah Craig is not just any straight bourbon whiskey, this bourbon is made in the traditional way and often matures extra long.
Each bottle is hand labelled with its unique proof and batch number, the first letter indicates the order of the release for that year, the first number represents the month of the release and the third and fourth digits indicate the year.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and smooth notes of vanilla and soft honey, a little hint of spices at first, a growing richness as the spices mix with a creamy vanilla and soft whipped toffee.
Palate: The richness on the nose is right here on the front of the palate, with a rich and rounded spice, toffee and hints of coca and rich honey, with a touch of toasted cereal and light peach notes, smooth and rich from the start to the mid / late palate.
Finish: The finish has some dark dried vine fruits and caramel wafers.
