Like other great Habano brands such as Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, Sancho Panza takes it name from a masterpiece of world literature.

In Don Quixote, the famous 17th Century Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes, it was Sancho Panza who served the errant knight as his faithful squire. His name was first used for a Habano in 1848 and since then it has enjoyed a reputation for quality amongst discerning smokers.

The range today comprises three vitolas including the Molino or mill which is a Cervantes size. Don Quixote was, of course, famous for tilting at windmills.

Filled with a medium bodied blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the V5

Tasting Notes

Mild toasty, salty and peppery tobacco flavours, but not much spice, very smooth and creamy. With an even burn and a perfect draw this cigar is ideal for a late afternoon taster.

"...A chunky belicoso with a slightly uneven burn. The creamy smoke is sweet and woody showing light notes of orange peel, cinnamon and cashews..."

Nice, light, mellow and mildly spicy with a typical Cuban flavour profile and hints of creamyness at points. Flavours were uni-dimensional and didnt change throughout the stick. This provided an hour and a half of enjoyment on a Sunday after a hard weeks work and whilst researching and booking my next holiday destination to Madiera. Generally Ive found torpedos to be tricky as the wrapper often is uneven burning and needs looking after. Also the cut end tends to be tight abd you need the Perfect Draw tool to create some air tunnels. Overall it was a good rustic smoke.

Very nice cuban in my favourite vitola. Wrapper has hints of sweet tasting on the lips which was a welcome dimension to an all round excellent smoke. Didnt want to put it out. My only minor gripe is that it burned quicker than other Cubans Ive had.

So far I have enjoyed every Cuban Ive tried, so I was looking forward to trying a Sancho Panza but unfortunately this belicosos had an incredibly tight draw, so tight that I could barely produce any smoke at all, this along with the wrapper developing a split made this stick a very exhausting & underwhelming experience.

These are very mild cigars, and wont satisfy anyone who always needs some strength and body in their cigars. They build from very mild to touching the lower end of medium near the end with a fairly short finish. But these can be really enjoyable delicate smokes with a unique profile. Slightly dry on the opening, bright woods, a whisp of mocha, a hint of sweet cream, lovely floral and herbal notes and a rather saline quality.

First let me thank Sancho Panza and (the Cuban people) so much for this unique cigar. medium+ body, the draw, burn, and constrection are amazing. Varied bouquet of Flavors, aromas, and after tastes.. Such as grassy, earthy, pepper, woody, salt, leather, and creamy smoke. I will make sure keeps a large number of these fancy sticks in my cigar humidors. Thank you so much C.GARS , Michelle Adler for all excellent choices and services. ✨
