La Paz Wilde - 100% tobacco in robust shades of brown

La Paz cigars were manufactured for the first time in 1880 in Holland in the factory of Theodorus Antonius Josephus, which made cigars for King William III. From there the company would change hands plenty of times.

It wasn’t until 1969 that La Paz first launched their Wilde cigar range (originally named Wilde Havana despite not being of purely Cuban origin) These cigars are aesthetically rough, looking more like a hand rolled cigarillo, something not unlike a cowboys cigar.

An open end cigarillo makes it easy to light with no resistance. The looseness of the cigar also allows for an easy draw that provides a smooth smoke and as a result means these cigars are never an effort.

If (like me) you’re into that sort of thing, at UK prices these are the best all day/every day 10 min hits going.

Like these a lot, good value. Burn consistently, slow smoke because they are firmly packed

Been a fan of this make of cigars for years. Shame they only seem to sell these and the mini cigarillos in the uk. These benefit from a weeks proper storage at 70 RH in a humidor before smoking them. The only real minus point is the roll is sometimes a bit rough, that does kind of add to their charm for me. In spite of this the burn is good and the draw is nice and easy. They burn for less than ten minutes but every puff is a slightly sweet and full of flavour. They are very well suited to a nice pint of real ale or two, but due to size, one is never enough.
