I bought this cigar because I like mild to medium strength cigars and the robusto vitola. I was intrigued by the description of this cigar after reading that the tobacco had a sweet flavour. On purchasing the cigar I found it to be very firm in texture, so much so that I thought it might be abnormally dry. I contacted the shop who said that it wasn't unusual but to give it a go. On lighting the cigar I wasn't disappointed, this is a good cigar and I was quite surprised by it. Its produced in the Philippines with Cuban seed tobacco and to be fair this was as good as some of the Cubans Ive smoked. Construction and burn was excellent with no correcting needed, nice white ash against the dark wrapper. The first third gave good aromatic smoke with light sweetness and dark cocoa flavours coming through. Light vegetal flavours developed to a chocolatey bitterness by halfway. Not overly complex flavours, mild throughout and perhaps lacking a touch of spice, I enjoyed it with a sweet coffee but this would have gone down well as a mild smoke with a brandy or single malt. Giving 4 stars as good value for money and would probably buy one again. Id like to see how this cigar would taste with some age to it. The one thing that does let it down is the cheap looking label.
