DREW ESTATE

The Drew Estate story is one of daring, heartbreak & success but, most of all, one of passion for cigars and the country of Nicaragua, where we have been making cigars since 1996.

Jonathan Drew & Marvin Samel are not your average cigar makers, their story does not start in Cuba, or with fathers in the cigar business. It started with a dream, and through their can-do spirit and never-say-die attitude made Drew Estate one of the premier cigar manufacturers on the planet. The two frat brothers from New York started out small…. Small, as in a 16 square foot retail kiosk in the World Trade Center in NYC.

In late 1998, Jonathan Drew moved to Esteli, Nicaragua with the hopes of starting a rebirth in the cigar world. With a handful of rollers and an even smaller handful of money, the story of “That Crazy Gringo” began.

ACID

The ACID smoking experience is like no other, the smooth smoke which is delivered by this stick will satisfy your craving for something truly one-of-a-kind, unique and inspiring.

Each of the ACID cigars has been cured for months and months to truly develop the essential oils which make the brand something special. Handmade in Nicaragua with long fillers to give you a slow-burning smoke.

Acid Blondie is a light blended cigar noted for being very sweet, made with a large percentage of Ligero leaf. The cigar has added sweetness from sugar syrup being added to the gum to bind the cigar together, with a distinctive pigtail cap helping the cigar it stand out from the crowd.

A nice coffee break cigar and a great introduction for beginners who are new to cigar smoking.

Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Sat in my humidor for almost 2 months because i wasn’t keen on sweetened acids. I paired this with a honey jack daniels and wow what a combination! The slightly odd lemon/lime flavour of this cigar tasted superb with the honey JD. This is not a sit down and analyse every nuance cigar this is a yes it tastes good cigar. Simple and to the point. Not too sweet. Burned evenly. Good construction. Overpriced but so is everything.

Way too sweet for me, but a nice even burn and plenty of smoke.

This is a cigar that’s often recommended for newcomers and, for some reason, women. Personally, I found it far too sweet - it was like smoking an ice-cream. On the plus side, it’s well-constructed and it probably would appeal to someone new to cigars, being pretty mild and a fairly short smoke as well as being flavoured. Not for me, though- I prefer something a bit stronger!

Wedding: Honestly couldnt fault this cigar, Im the first to admit Im not a big cigar smoker nor are my family/friends, however theres something really special about enjoying a pot of cigars with friends at a big event, even when you dont really know what your doing! The cigar itself smells incredible, very floral and to me smelt like Palma violet sweets mixed with Dr Pepper, if you are looking for something for a bit of fun, that your friends will love this cigar is brilliant, we purchased 10 of these to give to the groomsmen & fathers, alongside a tin of the slightly cheaper ones for other guests, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I know cigar enthusiasts will laugh at this, but when I was looking for a great wedding cigar I would have really appreciated a review like this, get yourself a cigar cutter, a decent lighter and some of these bad boys and enjoy (then go for the bigger Kuba Kuba to enjoy on your honeymoon).

I like a sweet cigar but this tasted as if it had been first dipped in wet sugar. On lighting I could barely tast the tobacco for the bitterness. After about 2 minutes I threw it away. Id rather smoke the leaves from last years Fall.
