Having been a long time aficionado of some 23 years, I believe in giving a cigar credit where credit is due and that is most certainly the case with the Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios. It is a great sized, well built, flavourful, beautiful looking cigar. From the very beginning it did not disappoint. It gave everything I expected of this Cohiba Maduro wrapper cigar: A perfect even burn from the start, packed with a broad spectrum of flavours; From the well known Cohiba creamy vanilla taste, through the spices, leather, cocoa, the well known eucalyptus of an aged cigar right through to ammonia. This cigar gives you everything it has to the point youll allow it to burn your knuckles because you dont want it to end. A reasonably strong cigar, displaying a mix of similarities to both the Behike and Cohiba Robusto Supremos, this is something I would highly recommend for the more experienced smoker that wants to try a higher end or Maduro cigar. Dont let the price be a deterrent, it is worth it. As most stores are selling out of the 10s and 25 boxes (which is understandable), now is a great time to try a single cigar. Im truly impressed by it. Could it have been any better? Well, Id say its an excellent cigar the moment its smoked, the very best it could be at that time. The only thing that I believe could make it into a fantastic cigar is putting it down in a well maintained humidor to age some more and let the flavours marry together further but with something so excellent right now, that may be hard to do.

This was my first Cohiba Maduro and I struggled to enjoy it fully. I had a lot of canoeing to manage and many relights. For me it was a little harsh all the way through. It broke me out with a nicotine sweat and I gave up leaving about 4.5cm remaining. Its a beast for sure, this is a full on cigar. Ill try one again when Ive recovered somewhat.

Smoked one of these that was gifted to me back in 2011. Wow.....beautiful cigar. I dont have a direct reference point as it was my first of the Maduro 5s but as a stand alone Cohiba it was exceptional. The sweetness on the palate was immense but beautifully balanced.....there is no substitute for age and quality. One small negative was that the second third burned slightly uneven and I had to re-light a few times but that could have been down to my personal management. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a box of these even at the current prices.

1hr 15 mins of bliss, dry draw raisens and cedar. Even burn quite light, with plenty of smoke. Easy draw. Well worth every penny.

These are one of my favourite cohiba, from the initial light to the very reluctant finish. I've recently spent a few weeks in Cuba with these cigars and found them very enjoyable,I brought ten back with me and only have four left.Having not had any problems with the draw and always a straight burn I will be purchasing more,no questions

This is a very fine cigar if treated correctly, as with any cigar if you let it dry out even a little the smooth flavour will turn into a dry smoke and if you keep them to moist they will end up a struggle to smoke. I am about half way through a 25 box and only had 1 or 2 with a tight draw the rest have been a cigar you would be proud to give to a friend.
